I agree completely with Mr. Desborough's comments and note with considerable cynicism Craven's reply. It is, however, clear from their response that plans exist and are actually at an advanced stage, consultation having taken place “with a heritage adviser, a conservation officer and ward members." Most residents of Settle have no knowledge of what these plans now might be. My memory of the consultation event held in late 2019 was one of locals' annoyance and disbelief.
