During a meeting on Wednesday, Miami-Dade County School Board members unanimously sponsoring an item which formally supports re-engaging with the city of Miami on the plan to expand the public school iPrep on public land in Biscayne Park.

Public school parents showed up to Miami City Hall Thursday morning advocating for a plan for their students that prosecutors said was sidelined when ex-Commissioner Alex Diaz de la Portilla began taking in tens of thousands of dollars from the owners of a private school.
In charges filed against Alex Díaz de la Portilla, state prosecutors allege that the Centners funneled money to him through a lobbyist.
