She was born April 22, 1942, in Evanston, Illinois, the daughter of Donald J. Wangelin and Elizabeth Moe Wangelin. Carolyn worked as a manager in the retail jewelry business. Carolyn loved to visit yard sales and collecting various items here and there. She enjoyed singing in the choir and loved dogs, cats and pretty much all pets in general.
