A Rochester-based federal judge Thursday refused to grant a temporary injunction against COVID-19 mandates and rules that are different for vaccinated and unvaccinated people, such as proof of vaccination requirements.
The board approved that contact by a 6-0 vote. Board members will meet again next Monday night to formally hire Baker as the school districtâs new superintendent. According to a news release sent out by the school, Baker will earn a base salary of $107,000 a year in his role as the school districtâs new superintendent. Dr. Eva Merkel, Lakelandâs current superintendent, announced late last year that she intends to retire at the end of this school year.
