A Colorado man, David Lechner, has been jailed for life without parole after murdering his wife just a day before their divorce was finalized. Tracy Lechner's body was shot dead by her husband.
“This was a calculated murder plot to avoid a divorce and have sole custody of his children,” prosecutors said.

“We will prevail and hold our heads aloft and remain a family while he rots in prison," the father of Tracy Lechner said in court on Monday, just minutes before the defendant's sentencing.
David Lechner was found guilty of first-degree murder, attempted kidnapping and using a stun gun in the death of his wife, Tracy Lechner, following a Arapahoe County jury trial.
