The Far Cry video game series has had multiple installments over the years, but none so flashy as Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, which stretched an '80s-inspired skin over a new area of the expansive shooter and nestled its way into the hearts of viewers. It resonated so much that here we are, years later, with an animated series on Netflix set in the same universe. This series, loosely based on the original game, is every bit as fun as the universe we got to know back then, and maybe even a little more so as it explores the technocracy the United States has evolved into in an alternate 1992.

Netflix’s Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix — out October 19th — turns Ubisoft’s deep catalog of video games into a brilliant, postmodern multiverse.

The creator and executive producer's all-new Netflix series is the direct result of a long-time obsession with serious adult animation; premiering October 19, the high-octane show, chock-full of video game goodness, features Dolph Laserhawk and his partner in crime Alex as they take on the Niji 6.

Netflix has released its trailer for the Ubisoft-inspired Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, and it features (oddly) Cody Rhodes among its characters.
