Former state police mechanics accused of stealing nearly $30K in auto parts, comptroller says Updated May 13, 2021; Two former New York State Police mechanics have been accused of stealing almost $30,000 in auto parts and supplies from the state, according to a news release from Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. By Dave Smith Oneida, N.Y. - Two former State Police mechanics have been arrested Jeffrey Rapasadi and David Relyea both from Canastota, are accused of stealing nearly $30,000 in auto parts and supplies from the state. They allegedly used a State Police paid account to purchase auto parts and tools for their personal use, then falsified invoices to conceal the thefts. The thefts allegedly took place between April 2015 and October 2020.
