A Leesburg man and a Texan have been charged after a Christmas tree they allegedly burned damaged the the Southernmost Point buoy in Key West.
Restoration has been completed on Key West’s Southernmost Point marker, one of the most photographed landmarks in the Florida Keys, following damage from a fire intentionally set early New Year’s Day. Two people including one from Central Florida have been charged in the incident.
The 21-year-old is one of two men accused. Both are facing criminal mischief charges.
