Officers and directors of the Wayne County Historical Society have announced a $388,000 philanthropic gift for the preservation and promotion of county history. The gift will provide an endowment for funding for years to come, allowing the society to maintain and improve their facilities and services. The gift comes from the estate of Ruth Mathews and Sarah Boggs, and Mathews passed away in May.
