As many as 223 contractual employees of the Delhi Commission for Women were removed from their roles on Thursday, after discrepancies were found in their appointments. Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena ordered the immediate removal of these employees who were appointed when Aam Aadmi Party MP Swati Maliwal was DCW’s chairperson.

Delhi s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has ordered the removal of 223 employees from the Delhi Women Commission immediately, alleging their appointment by former chairperson Swati Maliwal without approval. The Department of Women & Child Development directed the commission to dismiss contractual staff for exceeding delegated powers and bypassing procedures.
