The School Education Department is considering the implementation of mobile-free days in schools, during which students would be required to abstain from using gadgets. School Education Minister BC Nagesh recently stressed the need to reintroduce students to outdoor activities, as many have become overly reliant on mobile games, neglecting physical games.
K Naganna Gowda, chairperson of the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR), said he had received complaints from parents. He warned that inadequate holidays could diminish students’ interest in learning and announced plans to issue notices to schools.
