Feyerick here in new york as the rest of the world responds to this, alerts rising everywhere, including here in the united states. deb, what do you know? well, what we know is here in the new york city, nypd is deploying many of it is resources from counterterrorism scenes. this is not because of any intelligence threats against the u.s. but obviously police are responding to what is going on in paris. i can tell you, this is law enforcement s greatest fear. this coordinated chaos, simultaneous attacks, hitting soft targets. this is what police have been warning about since september 11th, these soft target attacks. think about it. they hit a sports stadium, a theater, a restaurant, a shopping area. all almost impossible to protect and to guard against and so they knew where they were going. the mayor, the deputy mayor very emotional, as you spoke to him, erin, basically saying, look, these attacks right now, they ....
Are contained but you could hear him choke up when he said, we don t know if these attacks could begin tomorrow. and that s what is so terrifying about it. you ve got that carnage that has happened on the streets of paris and that people around the country and the world are fearful of but you don t know whether in fact it s over in the short term. clearly not in the long term. and so that s why you re having this increased state of alert with france closing it is borders and with the police departments really ramping up to make sure they are aware of what is going on. deb, thank you very much. i want to bring back now paul cruickshank, republican congressman, ed royce, and bob baer. paul, these numbers are continuing to rise and as we have to emphasize, we don t know what the final situation will be ....
On in paris right now. deb is getting for information. increasing indications this could be a suicide attack. we re hearing the bombing at the stadium does appear to be a suicide bombing. there is a body in the location that is has wounds that is absolutely consistent with what would happen if it were a suicide bomber. so investigators paying particularly close attention to that as we re hearing. many borders have been closed. general security very, very tight at this point and speaking to one expert, one of the points that was raised is that look, isis, hit paris in january with the attack on charlie hebdo and jewish market and now it s essentially themselves we hit you once, we can hit you again, paris is not safe. so this is clearly terrifying to the people who are there. ....
