Area this morning. she s being questioned by authorities. according to two sources, the girlfriend told police that wint planned to turn himself in. to be clear, he remains a fugitive and there s no indication that he s made contact with any authorities. obviously everybody looking at this with a little bit of skepticism but his family has urged him to surrender himself. it s not clear how he s traveling or where he is now, but the police chief did make clear that this was not a random crime. in fact the fugitive knew the victims. specifically the father because they worked at the same company. the father was ceo and president of american iron works. we re now learning that, in fact, wint was working there as well. not clear whether he was still employed. i think it s interesting, deb, when we listen to that police conference the police chief said she would not answer the question as to whether or not they d been in contact with wint, with the suspect. she wouldn t say yes, we have o ....
Feyerick who s there on the ground at the courthouse in boston. deb, you were there. walk us through what has happened for viewers here in the united states and around the world, who are just tuning in. reporter: well wolf we can tell you it took the jury about 14.5 hours over 3 days to reach their verdict. the verdict and the sentence, death on six of the 17 death-eligible counts. they found him guilty and they found that he deserved death for planting the bomb in front of the forum restaurant the bomb that killed 8-year-old martin richard, the youngest victim as well as the exchange student, lingzi lu. they found that the crimes were heinous and depraved and that for a those six capital counts he should be put to death. now, dzhokhar tsarnaev stood during the reading of this verdict. it took almost 30 minutes for all of the counts to be read out ....

Jurors in the boston marathon bombing death penalty trial involving dzhokhar tsarnaev the convicted terrorist now, this is day two of deliberations. we ve learned that earlier in the day, they sent a note to the judge asking for legal guidance. their question had something to do with interpreting quote/unquote gateway factors. what does that mean? let s ask our correspondent there following the deliberations from downtown boston. gateway factors, deb? what does that mean? what was the question? reporter: you know, it s a step in the process. effectively what it means is they ve got to determine whether or not, in fact, dzhokhar tsarnaev intentionally meant to kill intentionally inflicted harm and misery. they ve got to get through these factors before they can go on to each category. this is the second category. they later sent another note ....
