Monday, April 10, 2023 - More than 55 million people live with some form of dementia, with North and South Dakota having the highest death rates related to the illness. Caring for those patients is a difficult task. A handful of local artists have been working with Memory Cafe of the Red River Valley to bring those living with a dementia and their care partners a place to go.
"Minding Our Elders" columnist Carol Bradley Bursack says the cafes provide socialization, understanding and more for people living with memory loss and their loved ones.
