The Indian Institute of Technology - Indore (IIT Indore) has inaugurated Prof. Deepak Phatak Tinkerers' Lab, a student-managed facility open 24x7 to one and all. The facility is funded by the Maker Bhavan Foundation (MBF) and the Desai Sethi Foundation and is named after Padma Shri recipient Prof.
IIT Indore has introduced 10 new academic programmes, including BTech in Space Science and Engineering.
Former ISRO chairman Dr K Sivan has been appointed as the chairman of the board of governors of IIT Indore for three years. Dr Sivan, who headed ISRO from 2018 to 2022, played a crucial role in the success of the Chandrayaan-2 mission.
This is the largest number of students graduating from IIT Indore since its inception in 2009.
