Mold Town Council held its first virtual Community Awards evening on March 25. Mayor of Mold, Councillor Teresa Carberry, said: “This year Mold Town Council received over 150 nominations with 55 groups, businesses and individuals nominated. A DEESIDE business has donated hundreds of ready meals to support struggling families across the area. KK Fine Foods is a food manufacturer based in Deeside that supplies the foodservice and retail sector. Staff at the business have recently donated 500 ready meals to local food charity, Deeside Round Table. Ex-colleague, Lesley Povey, contacted KK to discuss what the company could do to support local charities. TOO many people are slipping through the cracks and are struggling, says a 'heartbroken' councillor. Over the weekend, Connah's Quay councillor Bernie Attridge launched an appeal for food donations after two struggling families required a little extra help. Within hours, more than enough donations were dropped off on his doorstep, which allowed him to help more families in need. A DEESIDE councillor is calling on parents to take responsibility for their children's actions amid "nightly" anti-social behaviour.
