Courtroom and momentarily we will apparently hear that verdict read, read before the full court, bret. jonathan, what was the issue with the one juror that we heard about earlier? earlier today, this morning, before they went into defense closing arguments, the judge announced that one of the jurors would have to be dismissed because she had been speaking with people, not involved with the trial about some of the evidence in the trial. the judge said that the conversations he determined were not extensive but that this one juror in question had expressed an opinion about some of the evidence that had been presented up to that point in the trial and so this morning he excused her and named one of the two remaining alternates to take her place, bret. ....

MSNBC Chris Jansing Reports June 4, 2024 18:31:00

Guidelines, parameters, one thing they did remind the pool of before they left because the drive was so long was just reminding them of the time line from when the 911 call came in to when the police actually arrived on scene. other than that, there were no questions, no discussions allowed and yesterday the judge actually had the bailiff and the officers who were going to be involved in transporting the jurors to the scene, had them take an oath and say we are not going to be answering questions. we will not be discussing anything with the jurors. so this was a very specific you can look, you can move around, but you cannot ask any sort of questions while there, the drive there or the drive back. you re right, i would imagine, you know, once this case is done they can t discuss every time they re let out on recess, they re reminded by the judge to not discuss anything, but once the case is done and we hear the end of the defense closing ....

CNN Inside Politics With John King November 23, 2021 17:18:00

Individually as jurors, and that s an important thing for the prosecutor to do, so i was happy to see her do that today. elliott. it s chess, i don t want to oversimplify a gay and as the prosecutor listens to the defense closing arguments and made her rebuttal this morning. did she make an effective rebuttal? she did. the judge gave her quite a gift by stopping the trial last night, letting the jurors go home and have dinner. she could have let the prosecutor go through and finished that night and what show would have given the prosecutor a tired jury, and now they have fresh folks who have come back from breakfast hearing the last thing of the prosecutor s argument. you never know what a jury is going to do. i ve had my heartbroken by juries before, but it was effective arguing. but if you go back to yesterday to one of the defense lawyers and her summation, this ....

Cnn legal analyst. glad to have you both. i can t help but shake my head when i hear the description of how the defense tried to characterize the victim in this case. michael, let me bring you in. just the prosecution s rebuttal is left tomorrow and this case in the hands of the jury. i want to know what you think of the closing arguments today and what side do you think was most effective? i m glad to be on. i think the prosecution carried the day in the arguments. i think she was methodical when she went through dismantling the argument of self-defense. i wasn t particularly impressed with the defense closing arguments as you know sometimes you dance with what bring ya when you re sitting on that side of the aisle. i thought the efforts to make arbery out as somehow like he was a villain until the neighborhood was a mistake and i thought that talking about the neighborhood sort of in this way ....
