Delhi-RERA: Saxena on Tuesday met the chairman and members of Delhi RERA along with the Chief Secretary and divisional commissioner at Raj Niwas to address the issue.
The move came after Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena convened a meeting on November 28 with Delhi RERA Chairman Anand Kumar at Raj Niwas and requested him to revisit the order.
The move is expected to curtail the unauthorised constructions of dwelling units far in excess of units sanctioned for a given space and plot size. In turn, the impact will be felt in unauthorised colonies, where such violation is common.
RERA also asked the civic bodies not to clear building plans that had more than the permissible number of dwelling units mandated by UBBL according to the plot size.
The Real Estate Regulatory Authority of Delhi has made it mandatory for developers to register the project even in the case where the intention is to lease the area and not sell it. Delhi RERA on Monday has clarified that the commercial projects both office and retail comes under the ambit of RERA even if the developer wants to lease it.
