More Information If voters have any specific questions about whether they are qualified to vote by absentee or which ward they are located in, they are encouraged to contact the municipal clerkâs office at either 662-841-6505 or 662-841-6506. Kim Hanna, Tupeloâs municipal clerk, said this year s ballot will be contained to a single sheet, and even though two of the cityâs seven council seats are uncontested, the contested mayoral race means âthere will be a contested race in every single ward.â Mississippi has some of the most restrictive absentee voting laws in the country with no provisions for early voting, and only a limited number of excuses that voters may legally cast absentee ballots in advance of election day. ....
TUPELO â¢Â Todd Jordan and Jason Shelton once again traded personal barbs at one another on social media â this time over each otherâs responses to Sundayâs tornadic storm, which damaged around 90 properties in Tupelo. Shelton, the cityâs outgoing mayor, and Todd Jordan, the Republican nominee vying to replace him, have previously criticized each other. Tupelo voters in three wards will return to the polls Tuesday, April 27, to decide runoffs for city council. These are important elections, with council members holding sway over key decisions that impact day-to-day life in our city. As a locally owned business filled with employees and their families who work, live, worship and entertain here, these elections impact us as much as anyone. We want to see capable, responsible, professional officials leading our city, people with a vision to push us to the forefront of growth and innovation with progressive business ideas and well considered social policies that reflect a comm ....
