Sun Ra poetry exhibit open at Corbett vs. Dempsey in Chicago
The story of Sun Ra, and his time here in Chicago, continues to unfold for old and new audiences alike. In “Sun Ra, The Substitute Words: Poetry, 1957-72,” a new exhibition created by the Corbett vs. Dempsey Gallery, the prolific and visionary Afrofuturist artist’s early poetry is considered both through the medium of its literary merit as well as in Ra’s overall musicality. Open now, the exhibition runs through April 24.
