"Double interface regulation: Toward highly stable lithium metal anode " by Guanyao Wang, Ming Zhu et al. - Vimarsana News

"Double interface regulation: Toward highly stable lithium metal anode " by Guanyao Wang, Ming Zhu et al.

The undesirable Li dendrite growth and other knock-on issues have significantly plagued the application of Li metal anodes (LMAs). Herein, we report that the synergistic regulation of double interfaces adjacent to the metallic Li anode can effectively prevent the dendritic Li growth, significantly improving the cycling performance of LMAs under harsh conditions including high current density and high depth of discharge. Thorough comparison of electrolytes demonstrated that 1 M lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (LiFSI) in 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME) can yield a robust and lithiophobic LiF-rich upp...

"Revealing the mechanism of saturated ether electrolyte for improving t" by Jin ling Ma, Wen chao Zhang et al. - Vimarsana News

"Revealing the mechanism of saturated ether electrolyte for improving t" by Jin ling Ma, Wen chao Zhang et al.

Abstract Na-O batteries have been considered as promising energy storage systems due to their high energy density and low cost. Their poor cycle life, however, and their unclear interfacial formation mechanisms have greatly hindered the development of Na-O batteries. In this work, compared to the commonly used ether-based electrolyte (0.5 M sodium trifluomethanesulfonate in tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether), its saturated electrolyte is employed for Na-O batteries to achieve around four times longer cycle life. Both experiments and simulations suggest that the enhanced cycling stability...
