The man who was killed by law enforcement after a nine-hour standoff in a West End neighborhood was identified Tuesday by authorities.

According to charging documents, following a pursuit from the Laurel Police Department, Montana Highway Patrol and Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office, 31-year-old Kristy Lynn Chavez and 26-year-old Michael Lee McClure crashed in a residential area in Billings. Chavez and McClure then allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled the area on foot. Chavez was taken into custody shortly after police chased her down. Officers had to use a taser to subdue her. Yellowstone County prosecutors charged 31-year-old Kristy Lynn Chavez of Billings with deliberate homicide by accountability in the death of Dennis Gresham of Sheridan, Wyoming.
