Dynamos In Dull Draw As Bosso Make Winning Start

By Sports Reporter
DYNAMOS coach Tonderai Ndiraya has demanded improvement from his players after they put on a lacklustre performance during their goalless draw against Herentals.
The two teams clashed Sunday in a Chibuku Super Cup Group 1 match at the National Sports Stadium.
A lot was expected from Dynamos ahead of the season-opening tournament after the club signed several high-profile players in a bid to bring back the glory days at the club.
The Harare giants, however, struggled in their first test of the season and they were lucky not to lose to minnows Herentals who could have claimed all three points after creating the best chances from what was an otherwise dull affair. ....

Nyahwa reflects on Chan dream | The Standard

Nyahwa reflects on Chan dream
February 7, 2021 in Sport
BY MUNYARADZI MADZOKERE
ONLY three names appeared in each of Warriors coach Zdravko Logarusic’s three starting lineups at the Chan finals in Cameroon.
One of the names belongs to Bulawayo Chiefs’ young utility player Shadreck Nyahwa. Often deployed as a defender at club level, the former Young Warriors star made his mark in the senior team as a defensive link man, providing cover for the defence.
And in that role he was majestic.
Nyahwa was arguably Zimbabwe’s best performer at the continental championships, as he evoked memories of some of the best players to play that role in the national team. ....

The Zimbabwe Independent
HENRY MHARA
WARRIORS coach Zdravko Logarušić has made a surprise inclusion of Tawanda Nyamandwe into his training squad, as the chopping and changing of the team continues.
Twenty-eight players had initially been called into camp to prepare for the African Nations Championships (Chan) final early next month.
The tournament, runs from January 16 to February 7 in Cameroon.
Logarušić initially requested his assistants Lloyd Chitembwe and Tonderai Ndiraya to come up with the squad for camp since he did not watch any local league games last year.

Logarusic Unfazed By Players' Inactivity, Upbeat About Warriors' Chances

By Sports Reporter
WARRIORS coach Zdravko Logarusic has dismissed concerns about his players’ lack of competitive game time ahead of his team’s African Nations Championships (CHAN) opener against hosts Cameroon at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaounde Saturday.
Zimbabwe head into the continental championships reserved for locally-based players on the back of inadequate preparations as players have been inactive inactivity as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.

COVID-19 hit Warriors are scheduled to be re-tested for the ailment tomorrow with those returning positive results set to be replaced as the biannual Chan football tournament dates draw closer.
The tournament, which was originally slated to run between April 4-25 last year in Cameroon but cancelled due to the deadly virus, is now pencilled for January 16 to February 7 in the West African nation.
