'Teach, learn by all means': DepEd bares technology-based education projects in new normal – Manila Bulletin

This was stressed by DepEd Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del B. Pascua during the first-ever Asia Pacific Public Sector Digital Summit held on May 7.
“If there are no face-to-face classes, then we have to devise all means to reach out to our learners and to bring basic education to them. We have to educate, by all means, we have to teach by all means, and our learners have to learn by all means,” Pascua said in a statement.
He said the government ensured the learning continuity amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic by implementing different technology-based projects such as DepEd TV, DepEd Commons, and DepEd Radio. ....

Globe eLibrary as added DepEd Commons feature

DepEd Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del Pascua has nothing but good words for the inclusion of Globe eLibrary as one of the features of the agency’s open educational resources (OER) platform to support the implementation of distance learning, and address literacy gaps.
“DepEd Commons will consistently cater to the evolving and fast-changing needs of Filipino learners to meet whatever situation arises. We welcome this added feature as we aim to continuously develop our platform to better serve our learners and teachers,” Pascua said.
As Globe e-Library’s materials (https://globeelibrary.ph/) will be available on the DepEd Commons (commons.deped.gov.ph), it is expected that Filipino learners will improve their English reading and comprehension skills. ....

PASIG CITY, May 23 Highlighting the spirit of Bayanihan and the dedication to ensure learning continuity, the Department of Education (DepEd) TV bagged the Grand Prize for Outstanding Thematic Presentation in the recently concluded SIGNIS Asia TV Conference held in South Korea.
Titled Bridging over the Pandemic, the entry of DepEd TV was praised by the juries for demonstrating that educational content can be informative and entertaining for learners, parents, and teachers at the same time.
