The crash happened about 4:17 a.m. on 3500 South near 5400 West, West Valley Police Sgt. John Pittman said. The woman, who is between 30 and 40 years old, was driving west on 3500 South when she went off the road and hit a large tree, Pittman said. KSL TV SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police have canceled an Amber Alert after a missing child was found safe early Wednesday. Police issued the alert for 6-year-old Tru Nakhawit, who was last seen at 1259 W. Iola Ave. about 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. They were also searching for the boy's father, Julian Ulibarri, 35. Police said Ulibarri had custody of Nakhawit, but the Division of Child and Family Services was concerned for the child's safety and planned to remove Nakhawit from Ulibarri's care, according to police. KSL TV MURRAY — A woman died when she was hit by a car in Murray early Tuesday morning, police said. The car was westbound on 4500 South about 5:40 a.m. when it hit the woman near 500 West, Murray Police Sgt. Jason Coons said. Investigators didn't know if the woman was in a crosswalk when she was hit. The car's driver is cooperating with police. Westbound traffic in the area was blocked after the incident but has now cleared, the KSL Traffic Center reported. The woman was in her 60s, Coon said. Her name has not yet been released.
