Canada Task Force 1, a heavy urban search and rescue team, completed more than 500 rapid damage assessments on homes and properties in the area this week.
Officials say about 170 homes and other buildings have been reported damaged or destroyed by wildfires in the Shuswap region of British Columbia, almost doubling the known structural losses in the province's ravaged Interior.
On Saturday morning, the regional district said significant property damage has occurred within its boundaries.
