Twitter Inc has alleged that Microsoft Corp violated an agreement over using the social media company's data, according to a letter seen by Reuters on Thursday.
Twitter has now revealed that, as of next Tuesday, February 9th, it will no longer provide developers with free access to its API and will instead roll out a paid tier.
Twitter said it's enforcing 'long-standing' API rules in blocking third-party clients a day before silently adding new rules.
Platforms like Twitterrific and Fenix no longer have access to Twitter’s API.
The social media platform previously released a statement that it was banning the apps to enforce "longstanding" rules.
