Real Estate shares slide

Real Estate stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Realty Index index falling 186.27 points or 7.06% at 2453.65 at 13:49 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Realty Index index, DLF Ltd (down 9.8%), Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd (down 8.43%),Sobha Ltd (down 8.33%),Godrej Properties Ltd (down 6.73%),Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd (down 6.52%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Prestige Estates Projects Ltd (down 6.09%), Sunteck Realty Ltd (down 5.89%), Oberoi Realty Ltd (down 5.73%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd (down 3.86%), and Phoenix Mills Ltd (down 3.38%).
At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 1741.92 or 3.51% at 47849.4.
The Nifty 50 index was down 526.6 points or 3.55% at 14308.25.

IL&FS receives settlement amount of Rs 693 cr from NHAI

ITNL, a subsidiary of IL&FS, on 31 March 2021 has duly received settlement amount of Rs 673 crore for Kiratpur Ner Chowk Expressway (KNCEL) and Rs 20 crore towards claims for Chenani Nashri Tunnelway (CNTL) - from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
With these two projects, NHAI and MoRTH have settled aggregate IL&FS claims of over Rs 1,804 crore across 6 Road projects.
KNCEL project was foreclosed under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) guidelines of March 2019 for stalled and incomplete projects. CNTL is a completed project, earning annuities, and the Rs 19.6 crore is the claim amount towards change of scope.

Market trading firm on upbeat Asian stocks

Key benchmark indices are trading firm in early trade on buying demand in index pivotals. At 9:25 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was up 291.76 points or 0.57% at 51,317.24. The Nifty 50 index was up 79.80 points or 0.53% at 15,178.20. Upbeat Asian stocks boosted sentiment.
The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index was up 0.76%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 0.55%.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, is strong. On the BSE, 1375 shares rose and 609 shares fell. A total of 80 shares were unchanged.
