Governor Ivey's office has awarded grants to assist low-income and elderly Alabama residents to weatherize their homes to lower energy costs.
The grants will support Alabama’s Weatherization Assistance Program, which provides funds to improve energy efficiency and safety for qualifying homes, with priority qualification given to those with disabilities, the elderly, and low-income households with children.
$2.9 million in grant money will allow local agencies in Alabama to better protect homes from weather.
