A state board is supporting a new name for a 1.6-mile-long valley in the Flat Tops Wilderness in far-northeastern Garfield County.

The Flat Tops area is home to the 235,214-acre Flat Tops Wilderness — one of the first such designations to be made under the 1964 Wilderness Act.
