Clemson started the game with a home run in the top of the first inning from McKenzie Clark. The Noles responded immediately, with Kaley Mudge getting walked after an 11-pitch opening at-bat. TALLAHASSEE, FL – The fifth-ranked Florida State Softball team (40-5) defeated Stetson (19-26) 4-1 Tuesday evening at home, marking their 40th win of the season. Florida State had a quick start in the first inning, scoring two runs. Kaley Mudge scored first to give the Seminoles a 1-0 lead. Kalei Harding raised Florida State’s lead to 2-0 when she crossed home plate. Mudge led off with a single and got all the way to third after a ground out and a single by Harding. In what was a pitchers’ duel through the first five innings, the Seminoles broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the sixth inning.
