Invitees to the 'pran pratishtha' consecration ceremony at the Ram temple started arriving Sunday in Ayodhya -- once a sleepy town now resplendent with new infrastructure and gripped by heightened religious fervour on the eve of a seminal event in India's political and religious history.
Various community kitchens, including 'Ram ki Rasoi' and langar by Nihang Sikhs, are providing free hot meals to Ayodhya devotees as the Ram Temple consecration ceremony approaches. Nihang Sikhs, ISKCON, and temple trusts from across the country, along with locals, are running these community kitchens to serve langar food to devotees. The langars offer a variety of dishes such as khichdi, aloo puri, kadhi chawal, achar, and papad. The service aims to honor the sacrifices made by Nihangs for the construction of the Ram temple.
