Congressman Gonzales Secures $500K for Maverick County Diabetes Program
This week I announced $500,000 in grant funding from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for the Maverick County Hospital District Diabetes Unit. In 2021, I helped secure these funds for the Diabetes Access and Wellness Network (DAWN) through my position on the House Appropriations Committee.Maverick County has one of the highest rates of diabetes in Texas.
