Lawyer John Brandt says the Illinois Housing Development Authority announced 29 million dollars in tax credits and the city of Peru is getting some of it to help build the housing. The Diamond Senior Apartments of Peru will be the name of the new complex. Three Diamond Development will be in charge of building the properties. Peru is one of two non-metro communities to get approval for the new single story apartments with modern amenities.

  PERU – The city of Peru will be expanding affordable senior housing options. According to the city, the Illinois Housing Development Authority announced $29 million in tax credits for affordable housing. 3 Diamond Development will provide 10 buildings with a total of 60 single-story townhouse-style apartments located north of Wenzel Road and west of the Social Security Administration building.
