PKI provider DigiCert has introduced the DigiCert Smart Seal, an animated site seal that helps assure website visitors that the site has been validated and is protected by an active DigiCert certificate.
Unlike the familiar static site seals, the DigiCert Smart Seal is animated, and when rolled over displays information about the site s security within the seal.
Site owners can embed their own logo in the seal, but this is subject to DigiCert being able to verify they are entitled to use that logo. HTTPS has changed in recent years, and consumers can no longer rely on just looking for the lock they need to look beyond the lock for assurance and trust that they are visiting the legitimate website, said DigiCert senior director of business development Dean Coclin.
Travel volumes at airports have been increasing of late, although still below the 2.5 million or so passengers the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screened every day, on average, before the pandemic.
As passengers return, they will notice the airport security experience has changed during the pandemic – and many of the changes are likely to continue even longer.
Need for touchless technology
The lowest U.S. air travel volume in history was recorded last April, with approximately 87,500 passengers. As passenger traffic plummeted, the aviation community sought to explore the potential of new technologies to make security checkpoints more contactless and flexible when the traffic numbers return.
