Nueces County observes Texas Independence Day with a Toast to Texas
On Tuesday, Nueces County will continue its longstanding tradition of raising its glass in a Toast to Texas Independence. Hosted by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas Clara Driscoll Chapter, the Nueces County Historical Society and the Nueces County Historical Commission, on March 2 each year the groups have celebrated Texas Independence Day when the Texas Declaration of Independence was issued and signed at Washington-on-the-Brazos in 1836.
