The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India, dismissing China's claims over the region. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized India's consistent stance on Arunachal Pradesh, stating that China's assertions will not change the fact that Arunachal Pradesh belongs to India. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called China's claims "ludicrous" and reaffirmed that Arunachal Pradesh is part of India because it is a part of the country, not due to any foreign country's assertion.
China lodged a diplomatic protest with India over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Arunachal Pradesh, claiming the area as Chinese territory.
