After due consideration of the weather prediction, it has been decided to reopen all schools in Odisha on June 21, 2023. However, as a measure of abundant caution, collectors of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Angul, Sonepur and Balangir are authorised to shift to morning school or declare holidays if the situation so demands., Education News, Times Now
After waiting for nearly two hours, the students returned home without appearing for the exam. The school time is from 7 am to 9.30 am.The villagers allege that the school remains locked on most days as teachers do not come.
"After reviewing the current Covid-19 situation and loss of learning faced by students, the State government has decided to re-open schools and colleges," said Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Chief Secretary.
School and mass education minister S R Dash, in a statement, said the decision was taken after officials visited various primary schools across the state and held discussions with the stakeholders.
The Andhra Pradesh government has evacuated over 54,008 people from three districts ahead of Cyclone Jawad landfall. The Odisha government has ordered to keep the schools closed in 19 districts of the state in view of the cyclonic storm.
