Tuesday, May 25, 2021 - 9:12 am POTSDAM -- Longtime music professor and Crane Symphony Orchestra conductor Richard Albert Stephan passed away on May 15, 2021. Stephan, who was born on March 30, 1929, was awarded the rank of Professor Emeritus upon his retirement from the Crane School of Music (SUNY Potsdam) in 2000 after 32 years of teaching. He was conductor of the Crane Symphony Orchestra and taught string bass, jazz guitar, and string education.
