RIVERDALE – It won’t be long before fisheries crews begin harvesting northern pike and walleye eggs for incubation at the Garrison Dam National Fish Hatchery. The hatchery, located below Garrison Dam, plays a vital role in maintaining and improving the quality of fisheries throughout North Dakota. “It’s pretty unique for North Dakota, a state that doesn’t have a state hatchery,” said Rob Holm, project manager for the Garrison Dam and Valley City National Fish Hatcheries. ....

Submitted Photo Mouse River Players Community Theater launches a fund drive today for a lobby renovation project tentatively planned for completion by the fall of 2022. “We’re doing this for our patrons. This is for them,” said MRP President Heather Speer. Planned changes to the Arlene Theater at 115 1st Street SE in downtown Minot include expanding and renovating the current lobby and relocating bathrooms from the auditorium to the lobby area and giving them an updated look. This will create more space in both the lobby area and the women’s restroom and will help to reduce crowding and lines in a post-COVID world, according to MRP. ....

But, there are ways to watch boys and girls basketball and some of the other Season B sports online. Or, one can also listen in to the radio play-by-play for select games this season. High schools in Garfield County have arranged with the national high school sports online network, NFHSNetwork.com , to live stream games on a monthly or yearly subscription basis. “We have the system all set up and should be ready to stream tomorrow night’s games,” Glenwood Springs High School Assistant Athletic Director Jordan DeCrow said. ....
