Children in Need coffers at the same time. B.b.c. Will show. You wearing just the start or they will give you lots more details as the days click by until November and there are thousands of environmental campaigners are expected to start a 2 week protest in London today in what they say is an effort to shut down the heart of government you might remember when extinction rebellion were in Bristol in the summer the main road to the I'm 32 was blocked and protesters also blew themselves through a pink bath tub on a middle lane section of the motorway didn't go down well with everybody the group will see members from across what should joining that demo today but has come under criticism for causing too much disruption last week shadow chancellor John McDonald was asked about their tactics and what he made of it all I think sometimes you have to actually attention in that way how to theatre. I have to be careful and it's got to be nonviolent but you know this has woken us up to the issue we weren't talking about this issue a fact of a 2 years ago until this movement got going to clear the youngsters start going on strike from school you know it wasn't on the agenda for many politicians to lurk I guess it wasn't on their part on the agenda for many politicians and so I think that those youngsters that came out I'm just tryna pay tribute to them and the extinction rebellion I think they're done a very good job sometimes you know it goes over the top and gets a bit annoying but actually it's worth it get the message across Don't forget says if you think I've gone over the top aim well today b.b.c. Was a Twitter feed you can see a photo of the extinction rebellion logo that they've put on there on the white horse adults and bonds Levy comments please get in touch with us today 080028 double 3 double 6 so what change do they hope to make i Reporter James Alexander has been finding out exemption rebellion was formed last year and has grown fast is it now has thousands of members in dozens of countries here they want the government to declare a climate emergency and agree to cut u.k. Carbon emissions to net 0 by 2025. They say conventional campaigning marching and writing letters to M.P.'s hasn't worked they described their tactics as nonviolent direct action aimed at raising public awareness around climate change and forcing the government to do more to tackle. The protests that hit the headlines They've blocked roads and glued themselves to trains a small group of eco warriors even stripped down to their underwear in the public gallery of the House of Commons. Some of the Stones have backfired last week the group tried to spray fake blood a mix of water and red food dye at the Treasury building in London beautician a little bit. But activists lost control of the hose and ended up showering themselves in Red Lake with. Critics of the protests to demand Iran realistic some claim that alienating public opinion by disrupting people's lives and wasting police time extinction rebellion says is sorry for people's inconvenience but they believe it's a small price to pay on the future of the planet is at stake they argue time is running out and they say their protests will continue. James Alexander there and we will hope to catch up with a protester from Salisbury is going to be amongst the thousands of protesters there in London later on so there's not to come on breakfast in the hair and the goats happy was he was a Twitter feed have a look at the extinction rebellion logo that's been put on the Olsen Barnes white horse by climate change campaigners in p.s.e. And let me know please what you think about their tactics that specifically whether you support back kind of. Artwork graffiti defacement whatever you want to call it but generally their message where do you stand and we've got them back to support them or do you question the motives or the way that they're doing things let me know please that tax number again 81 triple 3 started with the word welcher. Says damaging the chalk is what they're doing the irony of it all Meanwhile Dawn says please do something constructive extinction rebellion I've planted 7 trees in the last 12 months what have you done about number again 080028 double 3 double sex just coming towards 715. News headlines and yet as you've been saying an extinction rebellion logo has been put on the barns white horse by climate change campaign is simply say a man arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in Swindon on Saturday has now been released under investigation and pressure is growing on the us authorities. To handover a woman who fled the u.k. After becoming a suspect in a fatal his'n one crash wet and windy threat today for what should trying up tonight with a mix a sunny spells and patchy rain tomorrow once again highs of 15 degrees. From where you live b.b.c. Will right let's take a few minutes to look at the roads and around spend Williams Yes looking at a 10 minute queue now on the a 419 in Swindon that's when most back towards the White Hart roundabout just the queues down towards the m 4 junction 15 for the Monday morning looking at the m for itself it is running nicely no issues there slow going out a chip in him a 350 towards the m 4 there it junction 17 and traffic through shore this morning on the bathrobe between Melksham and at work just looking a little bit slower than usual and saw the lights and into celebrity the Smarts ran about on the 830 and me 36 Church away on the p.c. Side as well and the thing else you can update me on our 8000 to 8 double 3 double 6. On your radio on your phone on line and on your smart speaker played b.b.c. Will share. Drive How confident are you that the repair is going to be seen through this time because we. Also. Got the Graham religious belief. And reading of a friendly. Willow. The willow from. That was my figure right lovely Dr Jason Chaffetz and I met a girl and she invited me round her place to cook me a meal and she had Your book may food for a fighter American. Yeah there you go my leg drive weekdays from full on b.b.c. Will share. Graeme Rogers and his duck legs and his recipe books you know sometimes you go weeks and weeks and you just eat the normal fat. No holds your. Casseroles whatever might be but and then you go through a flurry of I'm going to try new stuff and you get all the old cookbooks out that was made yesterday trying this and that and you know what for once none of it went into the bin and everyone in the family seem to like it I've been watching a lot of Matthew films lately Goodfellas Godfather stuff like that and they all seem to eat Parmigiani I will simulate that it's like a sort of tray big with lots of genes in it loads of Parmesan what's around a record they're always eating it they're always reheating in the microwave before they go off and do a big job on someone and I thought you know what I want to slice of the action that piece of pie and I made it with a recipe from the b.b.c. Website yesterday and it did all work on him burn it I don't under cook it and then break the pounds or anything else sat down everyone so mom was licking their lips which is good isn't a good healthy Tucker feed in the family there are a few finer things in life throw a few duck legs with Graeme there and you're laughing his program today from 4 o'clock I can tell you looks great drive with Graham great music news the day you rush hour travel news a game of musical diversion Plus a look at head to this week's t.v. Highlights Graeme them back from 4 here on b.b.c. Welsh. Shall we tell you about an alarming story here on breakfast we have a mystery to solve is the mystery of a missing post box yeah we sent our best detective Cameron garnets a barber a new Swindon to find out a bit more. Pacing around the streets with a magnifying glass and. What have you come across Karen and he leaves. Us and it is still to happen mit and I don't like a park but we'll keep going with this one in the lovely little hamlet village of bad bridge just southeast of Swindon as gorgeous field stone wall about 7 miles of the 8 foot tall around the manor house and it used to have a rather attractive King George post books in it little red letter box that was the communication channel for this village for their e many years and then it disappeared now I'm here with canceling Gary summer who is the Barack ounce of Swindon Council that this is. When did this place was going missing it was spotted as having gone in the middle of September that was brought to our attention by children parish councils and residents and then and then we highlighted this to our conservation officer who was rather excited. Now there is a thriving 2nd home market in these post boxes they can go for hundreds of pounds so do we think that's what happened well we do believe in Royal Mail that they've now said that the post box was stolen and they thought for the filled in the hole in the wall so it was never coming back so that you can fill in with another price box of fortune they filled in a quite badly actually rather mismatched and not lie milter I suspect so they so well it's gone we went over Absolutely and I think they reckoned without the strength of feeling from local residents who regard it as a lifeline now it's very attractive but do you know in these days of the Internet and cars and things do we need a postbox every night we are in Babri which is on one side of the very very busy Mowbray day 346 and we have a lot of older residents here who would find it difficult to make it across the main roads certainly in Rush Hour 2 to get into chiseled and to use the postboxes there so it's not just a picturesque tourist attraction it's actually performs a still very valuable service Absolutely it does and I think that there is an analog generation who do rely on being able to send a letter and then receive something back in the post now very month I'd always been a post box there it was you know at least for a prosperously the best part 100 year is why do we need to get planning permission for all Miles put it back that says it does but the village is a conservation area and the wall is listed so we have to ensure that the right thing comes back into here so a planning application is required they will bend he say it's never simple is it it was was here but it always put it back Roy. Black The application. It would appear that they were quite hoping that no one would know to go on but it was a big you know it was a very picturesque little addition to this village Well you so they'll have to put it back in the meantime someone somewhere is in position possession of a very nice King George the George Rex You know there's a 115000. And a few tens if I could. Get good facts Karen you there were quite a few remember a few years ago we did them Prater's postdocs is on this program I don't know if you're with us there Marie but it was a big highlight trying said Clara all the postboxes in Welsh are no I'm not sure that I was aware of created under so much about their fringe on reserve postbox in the different eras and the strange quirky stories behind each one a lot of listeners going out there when it noticing post box is from the 1st I'm I like the little post boxes that are tucked in buildings and things and I think those are the ones I really like Little keep Yeah what about the ostentatious ones that people put as a kind of design. Cherry on the cake there's one there were I live and someone's put it in their wall but then I had to put the sign up saying this is not a real post. So why did you do in the 1st well I know I had confusion life why do it why bother why do it Marines when the sports news don't forget please go to RB was who should Twitter feed this morning and have a look at least ink should rebellion logo has been put on the old Some Barnes white horse by the climate change campaign is the timing of this very interesting I mean we're going to talk to one of the protesters at the thousands who are descending on London today to bring the city to a halt they say so this kind of local issue has happened it seems over the past 24 hours you thought so that the logo on the white horse limit was you said damaging the chalk they are we irony and it's. Someone else's just put them making clean it up I'm not sure that's the plan or whether they're going to allow someone else to do it we've got another text here as well saying hang on when it comes to their protest in London bad surely if they're bringing traffic to a standstill that's creating more pollution than normal your comments your views and what they're doing generally please our 8000 to 8 double 3 double 6 another busy weekend of sport Marie Yeah let's start with Speedway actually which is hopefully. Weather permitting it's a nice win in a way to Wolverhampton in the 1st leg of the Premiership playoff semifinal at the moment the meeting is still on staging to b.b.c. Will keep an eye Twitter feed for updates Jaring the day it's been a good weekend for Swindon skipper Jason Doyle after securing his place in the 2020 World Championship in Poland on Saturday night he won the annual golden helmet meeting in the Czech Republic yesterday let's go to football then Swindon have suffered their 1st away defeat in League 2 This season the time would be by Bradford on Saturday manager Richie well insists keeping a sense of perspective. I don't like to make excuses. We've lost. Over a month we have spent it for free games 3 games have a turkey fryers out for a. Season long loan we've got a horrendous decision and I think we're not right position considering we've You have to deal with honest open throughout the season that even sells out I'm sure that most of a club if Levy tell you to start. Going out for 4 games to you your best then we're going to. Simple and now we spawn the right way and get everybody fit and when I mean fit physically able to train with them really really flying training we look to the future with hopefully a little change a little bit because I've always known football when things are going swimmingly well injuries suspensions just kick you in the face and just made. A promise it was from a were you with Joyce even close against. A much all available. Couple weeks ago and just Phelps. So it would not been able to get any minutes is a big loss for us it's a very philosophical ritual and they're with b.b.c. Which is Andrew you can hear more from this one in Boston new signing. In the talk of the town are much take some rates available b.b.c. To. Slash b.b.c. Will. Or also it's a fate elsewhere in football in the Premier League munches the city missed the chance to close the gap on the leaders Liverpool as they lost 2 nil at home to Wolves city remain 8 points behind him in the title race and in yesterday's other games Arsenal are up to 3rd after they beat Bournemouth one nil Chelsea beat Southampton $41.00 to go 5th and in the late kick off Matty Longstaff scored on his league debut as Newcastle United beat Manchester United one nil at St James's Park to our stockings when Wildcats lost last night away to Raiders are announced side will be in 54 by the Essex based team follows their 5 no victory at home on Saturday to Brighton obese Great Britain and Northern Ireland ended their World Athletics Championships campaign with 5 medals their worst total since the 3 they won at Helsinki in 2005 on the final day Britain's men's 4 by 400 metres relay team failed to finish their race after a changeover era while the women's team with an upgraded to bronze opted to make his disqualification in that race but that was overturned on appeal and at the Rugby Union Well Cup in Japan France will play England to decide who tops pull c. On Saturday off they beat Tanya 2321 yesterday the defending champions New Zealand beat Namibia 71 points to 9 and will top pool b. If they be Italy on Saturday there were no matches in the tournament today and then one story that caught my heart every weekend on the b.b.c. Sport website a lesson in checking your sat nav before you set off to go anywhere on a map person I do use a sat nav but maps of the way for this former world champion they were opposite had to forfeit his World Open qualifier on Friday because he drove to the wrong Barnsley he. Started lifting Cambridge right he accidentally set up now for the village of in one hour so yeah so yeah I spot the qualifiers are being held in the Yorkshire town 170 miles away by the time it realised this area. It was too late to ring in and withdraw in every other way other than the snake wasn't there is absolutely right Barnsley to visit Yeah I'm sure a choice in that So yeah I statically Yeah but you know it's one of those things that it don't say sat nav and just blindly it seem the place you put in is in the right place look at the actually give you a little cute little map that tells you the direction Surely that should be give way. Unbelievable national surprise waking up to a to do on my phone thinking was that not certain alarm at the weekend congratulations for a pint of styles for correctly predict saying that using it in the win against the middle maybe by 62 points are going to absolutely spot on hang on before the end of the weight lovely point to start full of iron Yes So it's a healthy I do. To be a little lovely Parmigiani came out alright Oh I do you want to get back to something I said a short time ago that I got the inspiration through watching lots of. Mob films almost Joan in mob actions and saying that I want to eat the food that mobsters eat to make me feel like a mobster that's not right mobsters are bad people Ok or i.k. But it's true they're always really heating. Up before they go out and kill someone but it's Ok to bet on games and when stout I'm doing nobody any harm there and I'm not leaving any horses' heads on pillows 729 I thought this might go this morning. Given what we're saying with the defacing as some would say the logo ing others would say an extinction rebellion logo appearing a black logo on the white horse that Pewsey out some barns What do you make of it Jenny says Ben What right do these people have defacing landmarks anything else that I think is criminal damage when they hold up traffic and make traffic gridlock to more exhaust fumes going to the atmosphere the people who deface the white horse should be made to put it right and guess what they need a helicopter. To replace the choke I think part in cats all comes to mind says Jenny Amy agreeing with you here on Twitter I think Jenny sang How exactly is scribbling over and shit monuments helping existential rebellions cause now. From where you live b.b.c. Will show us how past 7 the travel news briefly with them Williams some long queues in Swindon on the a 411 heading down towards the m 415 taking around 10 minutes to get through the back of the queue very close to the White Hart roundabouts also slow past own hands now on the a 3 o 3 heading towards Ames bring the Countess roundabouts anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes and through the Harlem junction it's all free that's looking slow as well and the thing else a number to call wait 1003 doubles. The stories you share the music. And the way you live your radio station for show. Is b.b.c. World. Amazon is headlines. And extinction medallion logo has been put on the autumn bones Whitehorse by climate change campaigners in p.c. The group's leading to weeks of protests in London where they're vowing to shut down Westminster. A man arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in Swindon on Saturday night has been released under investigation the woman in her forty's was allegedly assaulted in an alleyway behind macaws in Old Town pressures growing on the u.s. Authorities to hand over a woman who fled the u.k. After becoming implicated in a hissing run the crash claimed the life of a 19 year old man in Northampton ship back in August now anyone who has booked a holiday with Thomas Cook can start claiming refunds from today the civil aviation authorities a set up a dedicated website is after the airline went out of business just Eva 2 weeks ago and apart. Box is gone missing from Pat Gray in Swindon it's thought to have been stolen but instead of being replaced the hole in the wall where it was has been filled with cement and statements b.b.c. Will show News at 730 to ever thank you say the weather and the latest news on that with Dan Dan's morning Ben saw change for us today quite wet right across we'll Janeiro in quite widespread through this morning could get quite heavy at times through coming a bit pants year later on though but it does generally stay quite overcast throughout the day and through the afternoon with some low cloud and mist murky places temperature wise getting to around 15 Celsius quite a breezy blustery day and it will stay quite windy right through the weekend actually overnight there becoming mainly dry some clear spells which is holding up in double digits for most them not a bad start to my fine dry decent spells a sunshine still quite breezy the south westerly winds will strengthen as the day goes on and the push in some showers some of which could be heavy perhaps even thunder times particularly into the afternoon temperatures similar to today's maybe up by degree of snow where we get some decent sunshine and then as I say for the rest of the week it is a rather unsettled and quite blustery too with some sunny spells but also some heavy showers been down thank you back in Iowa down down into the b.b.c. Watching weather 733 is the time Good morning Ben with you and the Gurkhas are one of the most decorated fighting forces in the British military army forever 200 years they've built this reputation of a rival commitments to the u.k. Both on and off the field of battle for 10 years ago they won the right to settle in this country and their pensions were brought in line with the British army pension but only from 1997 for major to Kendra that rise doesn't apply to the bulk of his career Have a listen to this go totally gone because friendship is a 2 way traffic and all we really trust the losses and that they would look after us I have lost it in years of service a good progress Pension Service. Which doesn't make sense because we were fighting for the queen. And we were posted anywhere there has been a British bullet fired a girl has been present except for Northern Ireland for political reasons as we speak now we are still fighting for your contentions it's a demand for justice it's not just the money side of it you don't suddenly see me driving an Aston Martin of oppression it resists all that but the principle is so important I'm joined now by j. B. Groh who's a former Gurkha and lives in west London j.p. Good morning good morning Mr Ban and the b.b.c. If I went back and they look at the history and the eggman was signed in 9 you know women 1907 in each Ses all everything equal pay equal opportunity everything but it's not on the ground and then why I am saying this one is I give you one small example that is to say it but he sure. Who used to have a bunk another is one small room has conditioner but again Ok used to stay in that p.p. In people room who are very happy Lee as ceiling fan and the difference you can think of from this my exploration you see this is how we have been treating and until this moment we are just you can't be in for. Pay attention. It is really on. Right. Now not not right States or I'm sure many people. Will share their senses I suppose the irony is that you have the spirit the mission is the secret come with a job there's nothing that you will not do or haven't done the battle they haven't helped yet yet you want mice resigned said things not being how you would like them we but yeah this is what I think but the history in judges us that we are very royal we are very disciplined people we we do whatever we are told and this is why although we are not treating equally but we always follow our duty and no discipline because we are serving for the Queen so that. We were hoping that one day will come and see whatever we were in a campaign for it will be in our hand. So she wait and see because the campaign is going on and. I know is very simple questions are answered We caught in if we go to the department period a person who was. Leading the department then we say please help us this blah blah blah and then they said there is no money in the port Well I don't think so this is the right on. And yes in 2016 we had a program called such that is to say without drinking anything. Then. After that we taught. Our kids will be heard but it's still not out. Since 2016 if you count here you know 56 already gone join a lovely of course spoken on your behalf. Groh for McGuirk living in west London on prep for serving from 963 through to 986 . Great b.b.c. Will. Today's weather cloudy West increasingly windy through much of the day the rain will occasionally turn heavy in places temperatures at 15 degrees the high tonight down to 10 and then smart fine and dry starts with plenty of sunshine and there. After you can expect today a bright and sunny spells 15 degrees once again on the roads terminus of the days only a 419 in Swindon approaching junction 15 at the m 4 and the a 37 Swindon to London Paddington royal service is cancelled as the 837 Swindon to London punning to and service now here on break 1st we've got a bit of a mystery to solve this morning is the mystery of a missing post box here we sent our reporter Karen Gardner Bree near Swindon. To find out if. It's certainly the soul no no no I need a right to tell you this as a as in The Pink Panther detective hey we are in that we just southeast of Swindon looking at the most beautiful fieldstone in man a house which is nearly 8 foot tall and it used to have a rather attractive receipt and nothing seems to seize in the set letter box now it just has a rather badly mended hole in the wall I don't see rule melted the greatest job with the stone work here now Tim waits for you and him weeks from b.b.c. Will show is so show what real He'll be on the radio later he also from West exhaustion means that Draco surname West will bit of an expert on all things like this that get sold so you get regularly get these boxes comes through your auction rooms we do it is surprising how many turn up at auction you would certainly get a few each year come in even these days because they're so collectible that's so popular you're getting reproduction models coming through the auction house as well so what sort of price would you say if I rocked up with one of the he's I'm a achieve option I would say for this sort of age work your rhyme the 4 to 600 pound mark for something like that on the scale missing here depending on the condition condition is important but when it's something that is nearly 100 years old we want to bit a patina we want to bit of where we want to see that it was used you want the history you know sounds like you describe to me. So how do you check it's not mix yet well it's almost impossible for us to because bear in mind the one here we believe been stolen here in Wiltshire doesn't mean it's going to be sold in Wiltshire and I will to police will have to do their duty now and contact places like auction houses and online retailers but if something does come around they need to be contacted. Obviously if we get one through our auction house over in West 6 it could be from anywhere in the country we can't go around phoning every police station in the country to see if they're looking one but all action items are loaded on law and so if the police are doing their due diligence they should be searching and checking for them to come a bite and they will find it people say What do they do well the great social history the lovely pillar box red you can't beat it it's very British and there are a lovely collectible to have in your garden would you love it about your garden when you're going to get the mail at the start of the day to be open with a little old 930 s. Key in that red box to grab your parcels and see what's going on my Christmas list smaller than the problems we've spoken to counsel someone who carries someone who represents this area as when Americans are the problem is that although it sounds just like a jolly picturesque addition to the village actually it's quite important to the older people as well as you don't want to schlep across a very busy a 346 to post their letters and also it's a question for the more oil Mel really it was taken and they didn't choose to opt to replace it momentarily they just filled in the hole as I said quite badly and it is the conservation officer as one of our accounts of the said own voice you need to replace this and that involves a planning application because this mall is listed so whoever took it has caused a chain of events that's costing recent amounts of public money and causing some inconvenience in the village but we hope that within a very few months at least it will be back where it belongs and I guess Tim They might buy replacement for your option if you go over the we have you covered your keep looking you are so was we'll let we'll keep an eye on this we're going to count the summer again later find out a bit more about how they found out about the theft and what they're doing about it Karen thank you we thought for a moment we have another case for you to crack anger saying ours went missing our post box in rotten but is back now banned they say in the pitch in Zimmer autumn so . No need for Karen to get into the car and get the blues and twos out and whiz over our way this morning she's our detective our very own about say Colombo they're Marines but of course that was the wrong Miss Marple who the other find. A flat chair. Who did Helen Mirren play Jane Tennison Jane Tennison. Yes she's quite She's quite feisty like Jane Tennison I'd say I am going with that one word for an absolutely thank you for that 745 news headlines his hammer and extinction rebellion logo on the white horse by climate change campaign is simply using a place in Swindon are continuing to appeal for information after a woman in her forty's was allegedly raped behind a convenience store in our town and the u.s. Guru helping businesses in which we chuck. I love the word replace the word guru if you're faced with another well known consultant p.r. Consultant professional slash guru or you know. P.r. Supreme Mojo's mind from mom's brain just outside with our paper of you today good morning. Oh yeah very nice very nice thank you yeah buyouts we had friends dinner oh good friends of friends you booked about 6 months ago and thought that we have to be very good friends not how much about it slightly forget the minutes had a reminder to date with all that's fine when there's nothing in the cupboard get the right papers front pages. No surprise there were in Groundhog Day with Rex I think but interesting in front of the times I picked up this one university is under fire as accommodation crisis hit students and we've had its roots this ourselves our daughter has a friend post grad trying to get accommodation in Bristol couldn't get anything for weeks and weeks and Bristol is cited as one of the areas where this particular problems all the poor old undergraduate grads are going in can't find anywhere to stay they're being advised in Newport to go in Bristol to go in. Newport temporarily one commute from new can be neat cool wow not fun but that's bridge fees now I suppose but still it's like they did your relative your sort of yes yes yes yes right friend of Michael's Yes she did in the end but yes real real commendation crisis in some of these big cities around the country more else well so we got 33 and thought I picked up until she about well that's you know Insight for this winter now for it's front page and on page 5 homelessness crisis in Swindon I think we're all seeing more people. Sadly having to sleep on the streets moms people out the streets are assessed Swindon it's well above the national average for the number of people who die on the street so it's a real real problem minute and very sad in this weather and winds coming in something need highlighting everything people do what they can and if some some pockets in the communities that made us want to night shelter we were celebrating their good work but Norman I know enough to know councils comment is they do have a policy in place I'm sure they do but resources are stretched and they not charities doing their best I know there's the big sleep out beginning to send the props that will help part of the problem bring a bit more full funding in the next story The Times The Telegraph The Guardian Helena Bonham Carter Yes this may be Chuck who hadn't been cast who was talking at the military festival she's going to be playing Prince a small great in the upcoming series of The Crown which we're all waiting excitedly for and she consulted an astrologer a graphologist under psychic to find out how she should be playing Princess Margaret and she managed to speak to the late Princess Margaret's via the song Ok All right what happened in that what's interesting Les she she. Said Are you Ok with me playing you and apparently Princess Margaret said yes and you're better than the other actress. Well that's right that's right and so there you go I think only about 2 episodes into the crowd how rubbish is that Noel Well there it is right now it's a large. Crowd Actually I did enjoy that but some of my I don't do the binge watching of things so 5 in for mist is gold I've never seen Downton never snow lenders know I'm slowly inching away through picking by this new feel this way what they call it the phone is they are missing out there we're actually if you haven't watched it you don't know what you missed me but I was listening to what Mike Tindall Marco you are a former England rugby player. And he was saying. In that Jason States the will be playing him in the latest series of the crime they can now so he's going to do some but not most recent level of the royal Jason Statham It's always is some of. The rugged more handsome taller version of me. But I'm always in my head now yeah. Fair to middling actor but I didn't realize my tender would be represented around all the characters in our lives like yeah they get a catch up and they're going to get ahead of themselves and they really wrote the Telegraph and probably yes prelate I like and she has decreed that fad diets and purges on nonsense I think she's quite right really she says she's But one young lady spent 100 pounds on a purge remedy didn't go into details about what it did obviously but clearly that's not a good way of treating able to be and pretty just said you know just cut down eat a bit less she herself says she's put it away to let me because obviously she's been doing bake off but she hates to lose it in a more natural normal way portion size but. Portion size Yeah I start I don't know I've got no medical scientific ground for this but I think it's largely relevant of what's on the plate just eat let's eat letter Yeah just a glass of it mind you I can talk I like baking I everything I bake say less most of time a lot more about a little exercise Well sure exercise get out there look thank you Joe Thank you very much and it's a money p.r. Supremely living in Mom's brain with a few of the big issues in the papers this morning the stories you share the music you. See. This is Ben Tracy on b.b.c. We'll show. That you know me I love showing off I'm a sequins to anyone who wants to have a little goosey gander. So I was talk about one of the big issues on the we. I can tell you is on a karate stance become the latest celeb to go out on. A Strictly Come Dancing surfer her yeah dive silly but great news for us because we're supporting Vikram says white with a k m a piece Paula Longleat family on Saturday and I have Pan Alley and speed bump strolls to the theme from time snappy with Joan's mind is never seen. Have a brain you came out of the spin that was a little bit wobbly last slightly but there was a bit of capping throughout but it was elegant and I absolutely love the concept of thank you with the judges please reveal their schools Craig Revel Horwood sir. Thank you thank you thank you thank the something. Really to you. Really. There was not a proper professional Maria Heisley I know that can be dance go in swimming Good morning. For a Good Morning see if and how I am or I was him into Japanese So what were your thoughts from watching that this weekend wow there were some surprises pleasant surprises and wanted to show. Yeah I thought I did a fantastic job on Saturday night what she doing well then take a story for those of us who just you know enjoy the program but don't maybe see the specifics what are you impressed by I like her level of performance I think she's got fantastic musicality say and her time in is super. Things to work on areas to improve though she's really got to go with a way yeah she's really got to get her left shoulder right down. There as a show to place in her pocket said she lengthens her through her back and her coal and nice long neck so she really works on strength in that posture and frame. That's the biggest thing she needs to work on from a parody really saved her I think the start of that dance put in the shoulder blades in the back pocket I'm going to thinking about each time I see her dance now and like Joe said last year she comes into the competition as one of the I suppose lesser known celebs but you think she's got just enough dancing talent so if she listens to you and others advising her get through I think she's got a lot of potential and I think she was much stronger this week than she was the week before the ballroom situation better than I what about the rest of the of the runners and riders who are you thinking of about them Well I think we're looking at an all male Final 5 going to say already. Between. 7 Diandra there from a moment Kareem an Amy. And Kelvin is obviously a strong contender but I like my side. You know we're a house love having you on thank you the owner of the Kavli Dansko in Swindon with her Top Tips on Strictly I was in charge of the boys that weekend the dog and my 2 sons because it was her birthday and she was spending her birthday cash with mom in Bristol we went on a shopping trip together whole day 9 in the morning to. 9 at night and we walked the dog around the block at one point we came in and I left my phone at home because I think it's important sometimes it just detach yourself from or kind of contacts anyway about 9 missed calls from solemn thinking. You know the cars broken down they've got lost in the big bad city whatever it could be no it was just Can you tape strictly 9 missed calls because they didn't want to mistreat me that's how it gets under the skin. From where you live b.b.c. Will show I did point out when they got home we are far and away through the v.h.s. And Peter Max days and you can just watch on demand but some didn't seem to cut the mustard how the roads on the rails bend Williams So looking at really slows you have passed on hand on the a 3 o 3 is towards Ames for in the Countess runabout was after a delay of over 10 minutes b.c. In 2 divisors top of Bath Road and Dunkerque a washout for delay there ran about on the $350.00 that picked up and in Swindon the a 411 heading down towards the end for just taking around 5 minutes at the moment through the common head junction and the thing else a number to call is our 8000 to 8 double 3 double 6. The stories you share the music. From. Your radio station for will show. The Beastie will show. Times that it's a big situation news with Emma climate change protesters from extinction rebellion in will share have told us they're going to shut down Westminster for 2 weeks last night the group put its logo they want to the autumn bons white horse named. I want to know our son our unfortunate was very poorly when he when he was born and when that happened the thought of how proud they were amazing we want to return the favor had twice during the event raised almost 5000 pounds for the last year of the war to raise 2000 pounds for the next year on our way to hopefully kind 1000 pounds over to the weather now though because it was some bright sunny spells today but perhaps a few showers later on a maximum temperature of 22 degrees Celsius that's 70 Fahrenheit people see some of that nice it's 4 minutes past one. It's been here with the travel I just look at the MOTU ISIS afternoon if you are heading between Wellington on the M 5 but a slow traffic it's all down to the road works of course but with the X. Traffic given it's a Friday afternoon that's slowing things down just a little bit north on the A 356 near Great Street got some reports of some heavy traffic there that's also down the road works that wrong going. On the main street the I 39 slow traffic that straight. We got here on the 5 If you're travelling towards Bristol from Taunton if you're going northbound there's some slow traffic around Bridgewater as well as you head towards junction 23 this afternoon as far as the planes and trains go nothing to report to be do nothing give us a call 806785066. Heroic . Well good afternoon welcome to the. Joy. Well. It's. Like. No way I mean the last. Place you. Would. Watch is that you might. Get. For the. PRESIDENT Sure. To. Get. You with. Women. Like. That. She. Asks Are you trying to sell me. We're not quite sure what the word. Whatever is we're doing up here top of the tour after noon on Welcome to the very top of Glastonbury tour we're here and we all here prove it we're here hands just about it's about there's no case again Jakey with after the we'll cut of that right is just not happening and the fact we've even got to the top thing is brilliant because halfway up our last great stint I look beyond that. Doesn't stop somebody was trying to down so I thought I'd stop you know pro-life is bad enough even drive in here we both know money with the road works and we both played too much and we got as far as most ins in town you got well by all the other and I thought well the tours in front of us just as we drive towards it to meet up at the same time we go eventually it's all good. It's steeper than you think there is no it's quite murky out here today you were saying earlier about we're going to I don't think we need to carry I bought a jacket because the times I've been to the top of the top when it's lovely in like cool down there it's freezing up here because you are partly Now it's quite warm there very pleasant very pleasant Well here's where we are we are we are sitting at the top of the tour we've got the remains of the church and we'll go into the history of the tour a bit later on we have experts you see we've got experts to talk to us about that so that's behind us we're looking out now I think we're facing Brant No 2 got Brant now in front of us we've got well most to the right of us we got a penny a mast and we can look over and see God knee and we can see the parts of Chad if I can think I can see the setting of the car boot sale and see if somebody doesn't do anyone any good and then to the left of us we've got Glastonbury and in fact the cue traffic light so I can see it from oil it's about 15 minute wait 3 there sorry if you go on I 39. Lives traffic is very busy through water and on the I 39 so we. Get up with us and don't ask how we're managing to broadcast from up here it's a selection of batteries and a hamster in a wheel pretty much but we're being a bit quiet because there's loads of people up here and there are lots and lots of people and lots of children's allow every school all of these but in my it I thought it might be 3 or 4 but it's a working day I thought it might be maybe 5 or 6 maybe what you and 100 maybe more hard to say at least Anderson I've had some American a 1000 people up here today. So we're not being properly loud because we've only just started to show so once we've been here for about half an hour and all the people that were up here have gone and you people come here we'll look what we've been able day and we feel we can be about all out and wander about but for now we're just keeping the ocean quiet because there is a blue next to us is sleep. Well I use the house on the 75 days George check his pulse make sure he's in white Yes move through here I think you're OK Anyway so myself and bridge we are here life till 4 o'clock we'll talk about the history of the tour the old off area legends because there's a lot yes they say there's an old dragon here today starting. With about a chalice Well we've got some people from the National Trust we got some people that live pretty much at the foot of the toll and we've even got some some people from the customer email voice choir I want the fun perhaps we should sing Jerusalem right now it was excellent so anything if you've ever wondered about the tour and there's no reason to be up here we're not there's nothing special happening also states then having a special wedding up here but we thought just to be towards one of most iconic places in the county if you look at Glastonbury festival which that official logo when you think of Glastonbury you think of the tour and you want to score businesses called Avalon somewhere it's got picture the toll on the had no paper so we thought no other radio show has ever been to the top of the tour so that's what we're doing so we're here live to 4 o'clock we got some good chins as well going to nick her show coming now then we're playing the 10 minute life on the afternoon show. Because shore won't let the sun go down on me not much danger that happening over the last few days it's been blistering hot a little bit cooler today's net yet it's a bit of a breeze up panoramas quite a breeze which is nice but we still we still don't know shorts we got off it flops on Yes Yeah well off and I meant Yeah excellent yeah it will be off let alone when it will feel the spiritual need it was no time for this. We're still doing the 10 minute teaser even though we're doing the show live from the top of the Glastonbury tour today here's what I want to know OK what goes through a doorway. But never enters the room and never leaves. That's tricky isn't it what goes through a door. But never enters the room and it also never leaves if you think you know it's over 806-781-5668 extension 1 trouble 3 Start your message with the word Somerset OK What goes through a doorway that never leaves us your Friday 10 minute teaser you think you know give us a call gives a text give us an email. So . I can show. You. This is the end. This way insults To Spain to. Bring. Something. Like that to. The ultra rich. On B.B.C. 2. More than a degree more than your course when I'm in the US is a good degree the best way to the top of the 1st. TIME There exists in our industry a set of social codes which are quite. Still mountains above me which are called the truth no matter how hard you work and makes me annoyed at times one thing about what. The fuck feels how to break into the late Monday night at 9 on B.B.C. 2. 21 minutes past 1 o'clock we're live at the top of Glastonbury Tor but we're playing the game no we're not we're playing the time it is we're playing a game the long game and I was talking that's what I meant to say but right now we're doing a 10 minute teaser what I want to know today is what goes through a door but it never enters the room but it never leaves as well so what goes through a door but never enters a room and never leaves what do we think people OK is it geo in which which Yeah I think that's trying. Which which is near Bridgewater with an E Is it cold air No it's not cold at Joanie in charge well and Joan you've got it right brilliant work also Kathy in Taunton you've got it correct Rosemary in Bruton you are so close literally or very close Think of a doorway your back close but you're not quite right OK Sue in Jim you've said the same as Rosemary in Bruton you were in the same house either way you're not white be a close Robin Paul it's also saying the same well done to piglet who is probably trying to pretend to work somewhere you have to shell your Yankees the management around but he's got it right good good work Neo in Bridgewater is it a swinging door. It's a door that doesn't really enter does it because if he swings you see it does enter the room a little bit so we are very specific here OK We're very specific That's what I like at the top it's all they want you to a clue for a reason you've got to be exactly on the money OK What goes through a door but never enters the room and also never leaves give us a call 806-781-5661 trouble 3 Start your message with the words summer 2nd have a chat with a lovely lady who pretty much lives on the Hill in just a moment after a bit of a doubt. The pigeons bring. Me. Back. In. This. Scene is bringing. This guy. Was. A load. Oh and lol ing in the deep we are playing the 10 minute teaser OK What goes through a door but never enters the room and never leaves is a letterboxes joint Taunton very good very close but not quite right Pauline or intoned could be a threshold again very close a letter box or spider hole says Nero in Bridgewater Is it daylight says Janet well done to George Margaret child you've got it correct and point blame and start again very good your 1st answer wasn't right be a 2nd one was bang on it too well well done I did it is at Bristol Airport she's still building the 3rd runway at Bristol Airport Good grief. Well done you've got it correct and also know Jawn I was a band called the a spore the Esper are what you take when you have indigestion you see the threshold not quite right OK now I've got Pat here is my next guest afternoon Pat and Andy how are you I'm fine thank you I recovered from the we'll cut the tour which is also the good will get to tour in a sec but it goes through a door but it never enters the room or leaves you a clever lady was the answer well the only thing I could think of was a draft but that doesn't really make any sense I like the idea of letter well you just don't get many drafts hearing a lot of the half a draft so you right yes I've heard you correctly it was a keyhole. Oh yes clever he how you see it goes through the door but never actually enters or leaves it's just there in the middle we settle a little box was close and let every letter box door handle door knob everything was mentioned apart from the main bit which is the key Anyway thank you for playing we'll do it again Monday when we are no we won't do again Monday because I'm not in for a week but more on that later how you can pass I'm fine thank you very much as I said we covered you live here you're probably the closest person to the talk I'll give you exact address but see your house from here how long have you lived pretty much at a for the tour. At the end of this year be fertile years 30 years now and do you ever get bored but do you do you just get used to seeing the tall are your back bedroom window or is it just something you think I'm quite lucky to be here I do get used to it I have certainly got used to it but it's never the same 2 days running some days you are in the curtains and funnily enough you can't even see it if it's Misty the whole door is concealed behind the mist and then it's lovely to see the mist lifting in the tall comes into view again in the snow you know in the winter that's quite spectacular the sort of highlights outlines the contours of the hill and so it's always different and there's fantastic light that you get on the tour sometimes to clean the ring is sort of a oh I don't know what it is it's a bit iffy a little bit otherworldly sometimes 3 minutes into the interview and you've already mentioned the word a therian F E M D allow soy so a very breezy up here. When I was driving back a few years ago through the levels it was a misty evening and when you do get the low lying Misty you just see the top poking out the top I had to stop take a photo probably everyone does what a beautiful view that you were saying about when the sun goes down you must get that perfect shot of the red sky behind the silhouette of the top Times Well it's usually been the other way round from where I am because from. Me the toys more in an easterly direction All right so you do see like the moon rising behind it all for example and that's pretty spectacular You must meet some very interesting people because every time I've ever been to the tour and like today there's nothing particularly special happening but it's loads of people up here you must see a lot of people just wandering about dressed in all sorts of get up well yes I mean hey this is Glastonbury and nothing that you can wear would look odd with the only thing that looks a bit out of place and lastly as a chap wearing a suit and tie to be honest. But we have yet to see you do it but when we come up if the socialists they will walk out with their cloaks when they yes it does get busy around souls this time certainly. Well I sometimes come up myself but I haven't done so this year but how often do you come up the top because it's a bit like me now let me see if I ever got burnt Now I don't live far from that mile away but I don't go up there as much as I should so do you got the tour as much as people think you do absolutely not when we 1st know you have to hear we said all will be at the top at least once a week early 3 times a day not quite that much but it just never happened my partner's health wasn't good relief from that soon as we got him I suppose I never never got around to even once a week now it's more likely if I get somebody visiting me and they want to see the door than Then I will come up but to be honest it's a while since I've been up there do you have that then where you have people always going see Palace got to tour you most US being a tour guide Yes And actually I don't always have to go with them because friends know that they can come and park at my place which is good safe parking and then they can walk at the top so that happens quite a bit. Glorified parking space but it is some I cannot remember but when we when do we have the bad snow this year when we have a couple days of snow was here I put my a can quite remember it was quite late on wasn't so I drove up past your house to the other side of the tour and I walked a little way up a bit sleepy but him out of people up here what a beautiful view that was to look out across the levels and just see nothing but but snow everywhere was incredible like you saying different views for different seasons yes I mean it is one of the huge attractions of it does have its drawbacks I'm not trying to moan but it is difficult when it's when the snow we've had. Well several years ago we had days and days when I couldn't go out in the car and go on foot but it's quite dangerous because you are I mean climb because you're that close to the top you're not on a main road where you do have to go off the beaten track and pretty much you want to you're on a slope when you do get out you it's probably quite easy to be snowed in where you are well it is literally the the road never gets cleared of course is not important enough and and actually not even 4 by 4 vehicles could make it on one occasion yes it was I see it was it was. I went sledging instead if you I imagine I've seen people tobogganing and sledging along the Saeed of the talk you would do on the bit we're on because it can't be a vertical drop over there can't use you need to be Eddie the Eagle to fence I'm going down there I think you know I would. Look at a cliff face you're looking down where we are but on the other side it's all points towards Bolton's ground but that's a bit more graduates now yes I mean many years ago I took my really ancient sledge across there and went down and that was done and there were some young lads there and they looked at this and they said Cause that's a bit of a based isn't it the sledge was not her and I said OK you would have a go yes but. I think I gained a bit of stick it was old lady with sledge like space where you were not how backwards today you go to skate board the chalice Well I have a support there's always a queue of people for that it's like there's the red and water on one side and the white on the other I'm going to do a bit more about this later on but that's always popular isn't it Charlie as well as lovely companion member chalice Well I go there from time to time beautiful peaceful sport just go and sit and relax sit by the the wellhead or sit by the lines where you can you can get a drink of water that's the red spring not particularly nice to drink lots of are and in this I think you had you said that when we came up if the solstice I had I had half a liter of the red stuff and I felt really queasy afterwards I was like quite bad no I. I wouldn't want much of that that the white spring on the other side of the. Spring that's nice and some people I know fill up 2 containers one for me and I make them out of like those A really have a cocktail now pretty much do you not far from the well do you drink the holy water often before you are plum a tap in save on your water bill Yeah no well I have been down there once once or twice when their water got cut off on the it happened and so I mean what do you do you go down and fill up the container. Plenty of people do they come all the time and fill up the containers and park in very unfortunate places most of them. We've got a beautiful view from your house thank you so much for making the trek up here I forget every time I come to the 2 I forget how steep it is particularly when you come from the Pilton So it is a real Trek Oh yes indeed I allowed myself loads of time to get up if I could still do you up here before us if we wondered if bridge would make it do a show with me. When I could be worse things to do. Thank you but have a great day thanks Andy lovely to see you again and you X. And stuff like that and Glastonbury you here again with Simon parking only a business I'm sure one day very soon look at a time $25.00 to $2.00 it's got to travel with Ben. Travel update B.B.C. Somerset Thanks Andy Well it is looking quite slow as far as the motorways go this lunchtimes having a look at the speed sensors as far as the M 5 goes if you had a northbound through the county between at Wellington junction 26 and Bridgewater junction 24 very slow traffic there that's just all caused by things getting bunched up basically by the road works area traffic slow on approach to that as he had through Taunton there so traffic this afternoon around the college and on the A 38 Taunton road as he had northbound through Bridgewater that slow as well that's just all down to the queues on the M 5 I'd imagine this afternoon. Like ways Likewise in the center of Bridgewater Broadway that's looking sluggish we have some slow traffic in Norton some Hamden on the A 356 and a great street at that's just caused by the road works there at the moment and in Walton as well similar story on the I 39 Main Street that road works causing some slow traffic at one late arrival at the softer noon at Bristol airport if you're heading there to pick some up the 20 past 2 flight. From Venice E.J. You 3361 that's been cancelled actually looking at the live arrivals board this afternoon and thing else that you spot give us a call 806781566. Somerset's whether the B.B.C. Somerset. Thanks very much Ben looking at the weather in the last minute and a half we've had a few spots of rain on the top of the top even that we saw a low flying pigeon but yeah a bit of bit of rain at the top of the top moment by and large across the county a lot more color that it was yesterday because variable cloud and we've got the sunny spouse still this afternoon tops of only 23 in warm we're not into the 3132 use of yesterday but 23 is good enough the saving in tonight any showers should fade this evening to leave it dry overnight with clear periods perhaps one or 2 Misty patches That's tops overnight little bit cooler last night was 17 to 18 we're looking between 13 and 14 tonight as you weather for the county. And the band it was actually the weld in the film Flashdance. LOL able. Cut. Cut. Cut. Cut cut. Cut Cut never find another like. You like me get. Me on the B.B.C. Somerset and it's me or maybe Somerset will have to forward clock at the top of Glastonbury Tor and what we've done we've slightly moved a little bit so I was facing Brant now and when I was and got me in Chatham I've turned back around because the sun has come out very funny but you know we've had rain in the last 5 minutes now the songs come out it's about yes the sun is coming through the clouds it's all very poetic I hear that I'm still at work wandering around. You small child youngster recovering from. You it was an hour ago you show you I know I'm falling apart really OK let's test your knowledge OK let's test your knowledge because we need to talk about what's up here OK so I'm going to sit back down and get my facts and figures out we're going to do some of that soundtrack a minute and we're still doing our road trip or summit and don't worry that is still on the case we do not after 2 o'clock right now what is the name of this church. Please tell me you know as we do isn't it not it wasn't a church that Michael Thank heavens for that good grief thought of to bring Pat back up if you to show. Well of course some facts here OK apparently. And Charlie Tate is a history man at the station so I think Casey listening I don't get it wrong but I've done my research this is the ruins of the Church of St Michael originally originally in the 11th century it was made of wood really made of wood it was made of wood that he got knocked down over years or you know they didn't they didn't see it on their problems then Exactly and then they built another one which was then destroyed it would go $1275.00 I don't remember you out that night you out that night OK it was an earthquake destroyed the 2nd church and this is the 3rd incarnation and this is what's left of it now we're going to talk about our theory and legends later on when we hear from the National Trust all about this wonderful place and how you look after it because I just thought it's so here we just sit. Here but apparently takes a lot of looking after especially the tower bit at the top where we are now but they were telling me and I won't go into too much detail will save it for later the gruesome things happened up here today yeah back in the day it was like public hangings and stuff like that you know ice I mean yes I mean centuries ago I don't mean like. A Like that's what they had here they had like they were gruesome things went on but we'll talk about that later on and there's a few are theory legends like a mystical cave that lives within the tour Oh yes I think we're going to cave in here but there's a lot that isn't there there's a lot that there's like there's that asteroid it's not some sort of tail research and there's a secret tunnel that links the top to the Abbey and things like that. But we'll come to a bit later on because a lot of things to talk about today I was going to stand up a minute and have a look well oh most fell over then we probably got the best best part 100 people up here I thought was genuinely really quiet because people still at work and maybe not every one is off work or on their holidays but loads of people up here anyway we'll talk about all throughout the afternoon we live to 4 o'clock however time to do the Somerset soundtrack. Make. The Somerset soundtrack use songs from across the county. Just point in time this week we're doing the same as it sound tracks someone around the county is choosing their choose they want to hear between now and the news at 2 o'clock today we're going to have to in Canton to meet up with Tim and his mate boy and so Brian's up 1st good morning to you Tim for Wincanton Hi there how you doing and you think good looking chap next to you right growing from you know line from go vote you know each other yes I want to talk about music to both of you you got both think it to choose that you like and I will play I'm not yourself and. I work in a factory called Coco PAC oh i will they do paper all day in paper or day yourself from a paper cut. OK music wise what you like. Are you crazy years ago I did you what was that round the pubs you know overlooked when you reset when you're not a weddings and what years ago you had to do the how Whoever's got a phone call Tina parked out the back and they move it was a ploy to get out yeah give us a chew No I can play Food and Wine disco one has a disco one he was a band then give us a disco band. You know one soldier's hands up that's all I know and so one. Choice number one from Brian he was choosing to change his Make him on the sound track softly and also let people hear how lovely people are there and they have great Jonathan and the lady in the quality we had G.D. At Juliet you together are you brother or sister we're partners. That could be anything interesting great or you like to gather together with very intimately related to sometimes spiritually together you know I'm spiritually I really and it's actually so yeah I'm here on holiday for the week we have been to class and we really enjoying her fantastic energy and while Brighton's are great people here as well actually I knew I would be long as have some sort of energy or vibration OK but you were here with some friends of yours you met up here and you were telling me a story join the song I said look you got tell me on the radio what happened sure thing so we befriend so we're up here for the week so we prefer and another couple down at passing some farm very nice campsite both again they're into the healing arts the energetic side wanted to get some could fly Bryson's again. So they came up to the top of the tour where we are now and Jenna there was the woman of the couple took out a crystal skull now not not this wasn't just any crystal skull this is a 600 pound crystal skull you know it was she took this out of her bag apparently leapt out of the bag and rice down the tall hill was. Drop sheer drop and they spent I think half a day looking for it I would. Devastated because of the price and Quade and it's somewhere now in the in the undergrowth you never found it never found that bridge get down there there's a $600.00 pound skull down. No No If someone wants to make some transfer treasure. It's kind of a good card you know and I. Get what you get right after well I wasn't here that I always had would have just rolled myself down the hill with me on. The show finishes we're hunting we could get no metal detector to try to look away so when you go when you go you go back to London you would return back to morrow. Bring your week here in Somerset I would love to. Really love. You don't know if you do these lovely hills do you in the middle of you know Paddington Station not. Like it is Richmond Park to this nothing like this I mean that's going on Crystal Skull what about me I said well you know if another OK what do you do job. Also where where you going to go travelling to go with me so we pain and this is kind of the end of our trip now coming just so we went to a festival before we came here so it's a bit of wanton Oh yeah that's why we came here because it's quite close never been to Glastonbury. We welcome you back with open arms very much I want you to say you . Guys thank you we couldn't find that Crystal Skull I'm off but she's all she's off let's get to choices from Wincanton he's a bit of a gardener contractor that's how I deal with I was it was like me. If you know it keeps growing Yeah. Cantona whatever it takes Yeah no local area music wise would you like a big fan of the sixty's and like sixty's music yeah favorite groups of people and everyone of the beat was that I mean their music just seems just saying. Better and better each year gets better of age. You. Know I'm. Kind of an experience. Certainly. Their players play. Better yes. I know. That's one of my favorite change. Slowly let me. Think. That. Strong. LOL briefly you. Lovely You know what we've done and to come clean we've run out of time slightly This always happens when it happens when we're out about meet people and then I see that you know now much faster the story of a strong skull and you've got to we've got to move away from the script 100 pounds crystals showed us exactly where they were standing and I'm just thinking it kind of rolled that far I mean there was a bit of a bit of a slalom down there but it can't have gone that far can it but if I don't if you just push me from the top report did cross my mind and I'll say like a final note in your time if you do your pretend you don't get in your pocket cash Well next thing you know you're on antiques road show in my next station again I don't really want to go I found in the kitchen. Anyway we've run out of time but we will do the other 2 choices from Brian and Tim just off the news at 2 o'clock and also we're heading back to summer turn for our final day of the road trip to summit and meeting up with Reggie and Maureen from the Somerset some attorney even Somerton be keeping it socially nice and nice base these around Texas a lot of this things we've had a real change in weather when we got up here but you know we got up here just before one and it was really blowing and there was a bit of a cloudy sky we then had rain about 20 minutes ago and now it's absolutely glorious where I'm thinking of taking the shirt off join the new sleeves don't you not do that flies everything at all there's loads there's loads of wildlife and loads in nature. And sheep and see. You're a fan of the sheep aren't you I do quite like sheep now I watch one other fact about this lovely place please OK joining the late Saxon times I don't know OK there were at least 4 buildings at the top of here there's only one here now which is the remains of some Michael's tower but back in Saxon times there were at least records show at least 4 separate buildings. Where would they put them it's not a huge area up here not flat enough to build things well when they built this one committee they whoever it was you know for 7 homes or something when they built this well they built when they built it Michael's tower here they actually leveled it off it was higher than it was and they had to cap it off and have a level bit to put foundations down to hold So Michael's tower so we are finding out more this don't take my word for it revenue sake no wonder some idiot reading out with a pedia what we have actually got we'd be speaking to the National Trust and the lady who looks after this whole site and the importance of it how you actually look after one of the biggest national trust areas in the whole of the southwest probably in the U.K. We all love the toll that we go through day course we do and what we're going to go from each and every people you're going to Haitian news and be right back with our final 2 song choices from blind and Templeman Canton and I'm going to head out on the boat summit to beekeepers on the size of your bullshit son a sad story. From a spanking station. B.B.C. . Asia. With the B.B.C. News at 2 o'clock I'm Rushton island's foreign minister Simon coven he has described Boris Johnson's approach to Black said as unhelpful yesterday the new prime minister told the Commons he wanted to abandon the bank stop the measure designed to prevent physical checks on the Irish border reporter Adam Fleming says the E.U. Won't budge on this issue which they regard as a. But they are I plan to other changes the real room for maneuver though is the other bits of the deal known as the political declaration which spells out the shape of the future relationship and is a bit of a route map for the next phase of negotiations aimed at establishing that permanent future relationship on trade and security and all those things that is where the E.U. Thinks there's room for maneuver I think to be prepared to rip up the political declaration they negotiated with to reason may and rewrite it to make it side much more join Sony and the question is With that be enough for Boris Johnson and M.P.'s at Westminster the college of policing has welcomed Mr Johnson's promise to begin recruiting 20000 extra place office says within weeks but it warned they would be logistical challenges in attracting on training candidates because of a lack of resources than a Liberal Democrat leader Jason Sun said investment was also needed in other areas when you look at youth crime and really heart breaking surges in knife crime and you know young people dying on our streets killing each other we need to have much more investment in youth services at local levels and we need to be treating this like the public health emergency and is the chief constable of even in some place when Boris stood on the steps of Downing Street and said My job is to make your straight safer and committed to 20000 new places my heart sank to be honest with you we've lost 700 places you know from some say in the last year and has had an impact on what we can do and evil deeds a veteran he didn't name many people in some hundreds attend his funeral service in a evil after a Facebook post detailing Sydney Walsh's distinguished naval career there were dozens of responses from people who wanted to show their respects the service Mr Welsh had paid to the country so Richard's words come home Wessex nice to live he was a gentle giant because he was very tall and you know that was quite scary and he used to fall over quite a lot. Lion's Head was the one good morning. Thank. You Wow. Wow. Wow Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow wow wow wow. Wow. Wow. Wow Wow. Wow wow wow. Wow Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. It was. 6 weeks. That is Chrissy Jackson to one thank you Craig feel a little text that made me chuckle just a little bit what if we go on the show for you today how many hours a night do you sleep would it be 8 would it be 7 the average is just under 6 and a half hours on national sleeping day well chance of a fine thing would never how can you get a better night's sleep and with a close change in this weekend what your tips are 803897321 but before that D.V.D.'s door knockers and the demise of the alarm clock which of those 3 items do you still have a 103 I 973 to one. Of . The Runaways and. Back into. Every town of Santa. Yes Wish that she. Should. Leave. The beautiful song Rita Ora and let your lover may. Well I'm looking across a crowded studio here and who do I see in the background is it is it someone new to the team is it someone you know you always say well. It was nice to have you been hiding all these when I was in down in deepest darkest Devon I don't think that is the accent but we'll go with it anyway yeah I've been down in Devon for a week and a bit it's been bliss not as nice as Norfolk was when the light nice the weather was perfect we went down with could go with thermals with gloves hats everything and wellies and didn't need any of them it was blue skies all the way it was perfect that's the thing about the Brit whether you can never predict it really you know I mean we were this close you can see this close to us going to the Canary Islands and we couldn't afford it so what we stayed in Britain and I'm very very glad good because it was a perfect perfect summer kind of autumn holiday Well I'm glad I'm glad you're back and glad that you had a lovely little break you see at this time we start to launch normal for Norfolk but it's a little bit different is that once you've done you've broken the system back I come back I've only been away for a few days now often sit down at the moment so if you are trying to call us you can sort of call us but you can't get through on air I'm afraid so what we've decided to do it we're not going to do Norma from Norfolk today because we want to make sure the technicals are working so if you are expecting or for Norfolk you're going to get it today but it should all be back tomorrow so apologies on our behalf OK so that's all that done and dusted out the way we must all start our 1st topic that for the day John this will stop stocking D.V.D. Players because far fewer people are buying them you probably saw this story a couple of days ago and the retailer has revealed its consumer habits and buying habits for 2018 and it does make for. Some funny old reading the things that we want to buy now and things the things that are in fashion are things that Yes Well would you believe I mean this is not so much of a surprise D.V.D. Players are out well you know they've been around for 20 odd years and lots of people now use i Player Netflix Amazon Prime those 4 things streaming So they're saying that sales are so that they're not going to bother stocking D.V.D. Players anymore Fair enough but this is where it gets a bit odd because. Those on the list of things that that also having a something door knockers and a long clocks and door lock is out there leaning also many people behind them know here's the with we bought a new door not. Only only in the Jackson house only one couple months ago and what was it was a gargoyle It's called Scott It looks like a dragon fly I saw a picture of him where you just buy 20 pounds something like that so I say it's a poor value lovely on our door the thing is though since it's been there no one's use the knocker at all the poor doesn't look too delicate That's maybe you have a doorbell don't you because we've heard all about your doorbell but because you can change the chimes on I say you people just want to hear Christie's doorbell instead of your door knocker But when people come to the door they've got a choice a push button doorbell or the NACA and I'll tell you they nearly always always go for the both of them go for the bell I came but we need to it so we need to get this list out really don't we and I think it's going to be dominated by door knockers and alarm clocks and Kate now I was waking up this morning by 12 separate alarms on my phone and not on an alarm clock I have a long clock but it hasn't rung for many many years and did you know that doctors are more popular in England than any other country that's a fact for you but we went we kind of want to know where you stand on this latest list he ditched your D.V.D. Player and traditional alarm clock and how many of you have door knockers is Chrissy alone in this one are they still popular in Norfolk and what do you have as a door knocker you know as we said we have any problems our phones this morning so whilst we wait for them to be fixed we're up to your text messages instead 813 double 3 starting a message with the word Norfolk I would have thought I'd come back from holiday and talking about door knockers only on mid-morning. Sale and crazy so we don't. Know if it's die just yet if anything changes with the telephone lines then we will obviously Russian get the most lovely to get on an end and have a guy this list out from from one of the main retailers Jill knew about things not buying any more we don't want to bite. E.V.T. Door knockers which is a shame because we bought a new one just a couple of months ago and alarm clocks do you have any of those do you have any of those items have you bought any of them recently and I wouldn't expected anything else from you but plenty of jokes coming through about door knockers. Or words to that effect exists just as I would have expected. But keep texting in a 13 double 3 instant you message with the words Norfolk now called Kevin in here when you knew we were going to talk about this yeah you were telling me about an interesting well you thought is an interesting local a lot what's it all about other people. Years ago know what after the law degree here are down and they temporarily shot in the street I think yeah. Join me on this program they sent me to the library with John Mills brick card in my hand to get a copy of this book out called. 45 door knockers of nori you are kidding me not you can boy online it's online if you go on I'm going to long for it right now say about 30 pounds oh maybe I won't and basically it consists of sketches of these door knockers it's not photographed the 70s going round. In the old days and get sketchy still not because he thought that has anyone ever read that book has anyone been to go by it maybe it's in a 2nd hand I saw as we speak yeah I think I don't know where the library will still have a copy I think maybe maybe will check maybe we could it good I want you mean maybe Kevin the guy gets. You know what I meant. I'll go so what's the name of the book again something like old door not $45.00 an hour of nor has anyone ever ever seen a coup. Instant message with no Folks thank you Phil for your text is while the lorry driver I think is chuckling to what we're talking about today Hi Chris I hope D.V.D. Players don't die off completely a collection of Blu ray discs sad says Kevin. And . You. Can. Play. C George Michael and Mary J. Blige and as the D.V.D.'s don't all cause the demise of the club 3 things 3 items that apparently we just don't want to buy anymore he offered one of them all with passion and alarm clock I had one that's just didn't get any up out of bed for years and years and he is 813 double 3 and start a message with the words no fat we are going to have an on this day music history Talk of the past 10 a birthday girl his biggest U.K. Chart hit was about 10 marriage bright that. Jim Patrick Kay's one of the writers of our the taiga said a call by a publisher we were checking out the options do we have a lawsuit here I thought his song was very good and the bottom line is it would have been a tough case to win so instead I'm braced it and I started looking at it as a positive thing in the song's music video Perry got to work with exotic animals while filming but there was just one clear favorite Katie particularly enjoyed working with Susie the elephant because she wouldn't stop eating everything on the film set and that just cracked everybody up but this song sold over a 1000000 copies here in the U.K. Alone spending 2 weeks at number one was we say happy birthday Katy Perry. Katy Perry was 34 today and as I understand music history track Good morning it's pretty Jackson until 1 o'clock is B.B.C. Radio Norfolk and if you think he's so for I've been listening to you for a few minutes Christine I haven't heard you give out the normal phone off a qualifying question there is a reason for that is we've got trouble with the telephone lines today so we're just going to hold that for a while we have it seems I've gone away and everything has stopped working on the day I come back which is brilliant but the problem that you can still Texas and e-mail us of course 813 double 3 on the text just make sure you study text message with the word Norfolk and hopefully it will be back to normal by tomorrow and now we're mentioned the fact that D.V.D.'s door knockers and demise of the long clock and we had Kevin he texted in earlier said that he's got a big collection of Blu ray discs now you buzzed to my ear and said Kevin will be OK because this is yet the they're still going to be sell they're still Blu ray is still in fashion apparently though I don't have a billy ray player and I've never bought a Blu ray disc but that they're like the high definition D.V.D. So they're better quality D.V.D.'s they're still being sold but your old D.V.D. Player at John Lewis anyway isn't being sold that's why we're talking about these these lists this morning so D.V.D.'s they're old hat now but the big the other one which which caught our eye was the fact that the traditional alarm clock and I don't just mean the wind up one I mean the you know the radio alarm clock you have on the bedside they are there they're struggling for sales now people are not buying alarm clocks anymore I tell you what was there were multiple tests if you can text in a 13 doubles for a start your message with the word Norfolk producer read to me whilst Katy Perry was on how many how many alarms you have on your phone to wake you up in the morn. OK. I'm not going to hurt anyone has had this many. So these are long so I've got sat on my fine. As many alarms as how many alarms do you think I've got to get me up in the morning have to get up early. Think I've got to wake me up and find our seats are repeats yet I want 3 double free and start your message with the word Norfolk how many times as you no longer Wolf to get up in the morning I think you will be shocked do you think if we show it off I think you'll go down in the Guinness Book of Records actually that person has the most amount of alone but . He will say takes a lot of it was. A a daily basis Oh I know who to read to miss this. Can you hear me now through that yes you can hear me call you we had a text from Kevin in Gholston at beginning of the week that he has just taken early retirement so he's now able to listen to mid-morning every day so we're glad he did not why he's saying that. He doesn't have an alarm clock at all he doesn't need one anymore so we got a new listener to me that is very. Nice to have you along Oh and the other topic that we've got on the show today is how many hours a night D. Sleep $87.00 the average is just on the 6 and a half hours and it is national sleeping day today which kind of goes with alarm clocks Yes You know this is amazing how these things come together isn't it who thought we'd have a national day for sleeping. With the phone problems of how do I wish I. Had another couple of days holiday I know that's what that's what you're thinking but we are asking you what are your tips for getting a good night's sleep. And how many hours a night do you think you sleep as well I wouldn't say I roll solid sleep or 3 than I am not certain how I changed over the years. As I got older Yes I don't think I don't know if you need as much sleep the older you get maybe this is one of the questions we can ask our experts or maybe it's because I've got this clock that shows the time on the ceiling and maybe that consciously way so you decide you want it does it constantly beam it all the time so it's a good idea or not really it's probably a bad idea if you're rough sleepers I mean as in you kind of tumble about quite a bit in bed and you end up upside down if you know that the time doesn't quite show what time it is I would like to be able to see the time all the time that really distracts me from trying to get off to sleep clock watching is really really difficult but we'd love to hear from you on the your tips for getting a good night's sleep we did ask about the alarm clocks didn't we in terms of how many alarms that I've set yeah we have got the right answers if I can just yet so right through a key thing I will tell you that it's over 5 yes it is over 5 and it starts at 5 40 am Ed has over 5 alarms that wake him up but how many over 5 it is is it this is like qualifying question to normal for Norfolk anyway takes an 8 on 3 double 3 Start your message with the word Norfolk or have a go at that will give you the answer straight. Back. We've. Wow. Wow wow wow. a. Player is that I want and they don't want to alarm clocks anymore apparently we're not behind them now but one of the questions that we also use how many. Have to wake him up in the mornings Paul Twitter is said I think it has 10 along. Says I think it has 8 alarms to get him up in the morning I wonder how Emma feels about that. Let's have another look at we got one there with a writer. At N.P.R. . I would say the ad like me has 12 alarms Monday to Friday and none on a weekend because I'm normally wait for the you are absolutely 12. Starting at 540 and going right through to 640 and by 6. That's what happened this morning anyway so it's it's really different to go off a lot well 5 minute interval kind of but basically 5 minute intervals Yeah which is ridiculous isn't it but I'm so nervous of of. Waking up late for work that I have to have I have to have 12 a lobster you find out the weekends when you don't have to come into work you wake up early anyway I guess if you are used to being an early riser Well I always have a long commute to school as well so I've always been up really early on and I've never on holiday I mean we've got 2 children so obviously we're going to be up early but on holiday I can never have a line if if Sarah says I'll go you have a lie in and then we'll alternate I can't I cannot once I'm up at source 6 I'm up so I have to get on with the day but but 12 alarms I feel safe and comfortable with that and the least I'm not the only one Robbo there M.P.H. He does as well but no alarms that we can but it's been what's the point by then I want to write if if there's anyone listening now that has more than 12 can you be editing can you beat rubber mph having more than 12 alarms to wake you up in the morning so I could get speaking to sleep expert time to 11 and I do want to ask and I don't know whether you have one of these clocks we have one at home and it shines the time on the ceiling are they a good idea or not the other topic we were on about was door knockers and Sophie in Roxanne says Yeah I've got a door knocker it's a horseshoe shaped door knocker on a solid wood door fabulous and I've still got a D.V.D. Player but I've got a battery operated alarm clock that counts Yeah you during all kind I don't think you can be a massively unfashionable there or anything like that it's just that shops don't make money from these things anymore but I'm glad I'm going to go another to have a fan in the cafe. Let. Me. See. Let. Me. Just. Let. Me. Be. And. Greg. Was to. Me a. Game. Was was. Was. Was was. OK. Thank. YOU THANK YOU AND. Alex. Cohen. Thanks it. Was. A An. Alibi. For us in that Highland And good morning it is Chrissie Jackson. It's B.B.C. Radio Norfolk producer red they're telling us he has not one not 2 but 12 different alarms. Going off at different intervals to make sure that he gets up in time that Jen said this is what I do I put the final alarm on my phone but I put the phone near the door to get out of bed and cross the room to turn it off once I'm out of bed I stay out the other 2 alarms are on my clock radio which of course is tuned to Radio Norfolk Thank you Jen for that did you know that today is National sleeping day funny that we're mentioning now. As we're talking about the demise of the old fashioned alarm clock but how do you get a better better night's sleep and just laugh and really work does it work or does it just make you feel ill I know it's popular in the west of the county but I've used it to try and cure insomnia and it's put me off the smell of lavender for life has it I've I've bought those like those lavender pillow spray so I see exactly where I saw what it reminds me of my grandmother's drawer liners you know that. They get up you know however good news although it's too late for an often offered the lines are back open so if you have got a question for our sleep expert after 11 o'clock give us a call 803897321 according to new research out today we rarely have a good night's sleep in fact 93 percent of us have terrible sleep at some point in our lives so you know we need a bit of help on this one we help from you as well if it's work if you've had insomnia or you've had trouble sleeping but you found the cure give us a call over 803897321 it's lasted through 3 prime ministers 4 doctor and even 3 different breakfast show presenters is the most listened to radio programming for and now its success means that it's presenters are taking to the stage has been interesting they have a great weekend what a great Sunday afternoon the playhouse it was so funny it sounds great fun times back up my street after 10 years in a row this time it really is the end of. Scuse me also today there's a new art installation happening outside the Tate in Liverpool I mean she's going to go down and see it and educate me because I'm a bit of a peasant about art I don't I don't really understand it and I look at things and go oh no it's pretty colors but that's about where and so we'll find out about that we're also talking today about things are going out fashion things that you don't see around you houses more on that after 930 so as to siphon soda so they were brought with a Soda Stream or my words which I don't know unless you just have concealed syrup didn't you say I've gone a couple of decades before the Soda Stream I've just gone for the soda side from which was just soda water it was just wars and what you did you've got one of these little metal. Who's playing Freddie Mercury. On the program talking about how we got into the character but then we found. Some of the old Freddie Mercury Queen vocals with all of the with all of the music stripped out we see a feature on the program called stripped away and we take all the music out of the songs and just leave the voices take a little finish with this we'll finish with a Queen song but I've got to play a Freddie Mercury with the music taken out and just his voice I mean unique absolutely you know I mean what an incredible voice of the time when there was no software to bring you back into tune if you would sing it out shooting there was no also cheat and you just have to go in and do it and he did he's. Done I can. Feel he. Can a. Lot of us are doing to be heard by. Zoosk. Too much through. It I'm a shoot in style leap into this guy like a tiger defying the laws of God rather. And before all of that will be my words I picked a song title Well Sean picked it last Friday when it tell you how many words is in the song title or you have to do is guess the words in the title to get the song sweetly simple it's day 3 and no words have gone yet nothing to lose just throw any Would it may you never know it might be in there we'll be taking your calls on. The. With the beautiful with. A new. Tracks do you want to. Just make you believe. I'm going to. Go and see me. From the back but you never seen a bad. Can you give me a. Step one Our lives. And moves he's got some good moves himself he kind of does a modern take on a mood will find solace. In the hour. The. Right time for you to get on the phone now 80731133 we're playing mom you know playing a very well like it's a full song title we want you to work out with a song title as we do it word by word so you call up and Lisa is such and such a word in it I'll say yes or no but regardless of whether it's a yes or no you get a chance to have another guess as well so in theory you could have 2 guesses to find out at least one would. Ask you question you've got a 5050 chance of getting it right it's good odds on this one pick up a phone. 107393 we have no words for words. We would love some words. From. The word. Ask if you have young children in your household like. No and he suggested. A Yellow Ribbon that's not correct but my guess is going to be. 08073133 is the number come along and I was with me today and you could be feeling jubilant within minutes. Thanks to our a little. So the mark my words is up and running full today so it's a full what song title this is how it was she trying to work out what the song title is we've got full words in there that much we do know we also know quite a few guesses of was that on to the hello to Joyce in mold I says Hi Lisa is the word you'll in the title it's not on the fight and I will say for any drama pedantic folks it's none of those ules you all you poster none of those are in that neither is a who was guessed by P.J. In back of head and Blue can't face full kiss long love might over play the none of those are in that none of the but they were for a little at least it was that I weigh 207-3113 double 3 pick up the phone give me your gas and you could well be actually getting to particular words and hopefully work out the song title for us which would be brilliant scatterable B.B.C. Radio my designed by let's get the Juno was the 1st time we've ever worked together in a minute is a big moment I'm super excited to introduce Let's get the latest from how to thank you very much not looking too bad out there it'll M 60 Live returns no more 12 the echoes in. 11 Paul but what Dobby right south on the bridge to we have got to be a slight traffic there around the junction for bridge congestion backing up to the right no particular instance I was just roadways that causing problems with a lane closure in place so watch out for those delays and county boat traffic in both directions that again is going through some right way temperature awful lot in place causing some delays for you this morning so just those 2 things to watch out for at the moment keep me updated this morning though if you spot anything I should be mentioning I won 51794953 This Saturday 2 friends are reunited at the John Smith Stadium and opportunity here but. You can cop take his little Saturday even walk most other steel town now from made up next here we'll take some of the pilot is going to pick a spot yes it was no doubt we'll have to build up from 430 before form exclusive local radio commentary from half past 5 on 95.8 F.M. 40 to 80 5 AM Digital AM freeview channels 7 to 2. So 1st time in 3 years nearly 3 years yet again his 1st time we've worked together and I thought it was an appropriate time for us to talk about Marcus. And. Let you all know because I know you and alarm clocks Now the reason we're talking about these is so this in the paper today about the sales of such items truck pain loads and apparently people using technology now so how do you wake up in the morning I use my mobile phone when you've got a slight problem with the I have a microphone charger the my bits of I'm late tomorrow that isn't all right all right I guess 30 percent sales of alarm clocks dropped can kind of get that but his you find out everything people have normally go to charging by their beds on a long hot to take them plus you can pick all the different sounds when you find they can be grouchy Where is the old bell once again. There is no way they are stressful. Another thing about door knockers is apparently it's not massive amount they said over the last year they fall in by 9 percent but I suspect they've been falling in previous years and they're now saying this you know this video streaming technology for doorbells music I did your site if I was listening I was a local or it's not a career choice that I'm making but if I was a burglar and I rang the doorbell and somebody said Hi Yes I can see you can you just put it down to the right guy listen you are betting to him I know you will Yeah I know that now from that see I'd seen plenty of door knockers arrive the other one I always admire down a street to get a bath and it's a fox as beautiful we do you cross for we do have a door knocker But its own little play house in the garden. Doesn't count and it's not a stag it's really nice my husband both it I think he was hyping it going all door and I just right now that's not happening it's not going on my plastic door thank you very much but do you have a door knocker that's the question so you don't and how to know I don't I'm We don't even have a doorbell I thought you had a reason I would have to you the letter box why don't you use the law might be interesting to see how about you a lot people wake up to right yes but it just springs on when you're on the early breakfast show it's probably your voice that whites a lot sorry so much. But the other thing with the doorbell you said you don't have a doorbell we have a doorbell but it doesn't work so eventually people look really loudly Yes They've been ringing the bell for ages so maybe we should have a door knocker But we're interested to know this morning have you got a door knocker or is it just completely outdated and a long hot mess do you have an old whites you up yet what weight she will or is it a glass of water over your head if you have teenagers in the house perhaps that is the method you use I weigh 207-3113 W. 3 is the number to call this morning. To me. That's the temptations and get ready so we are playing Mark my words your guess is coming and we've got a text in so awful We're a title and the tag says to you in the T. O. It's not. In the song title I know that's what you say right now I can tell you what is an A and can't face full case long love overpay I'll play that you know I read that list of words I sometimes remember that game play as a child where you try to make a story out of the words I have no idea where that would go but the be a long kiss in it which is always nice on a bit of love as well go play Neil Diamond for you next and Sweet Caroline So taking your calls if you want to play Mark my words also taking calls this morning I weigh 20731933 because there was a report in the papers today from John Lewis was saying that the sales of alarm clocks have dropped also the sale of door knockers culture have ever walked into a shop and noticed a big door knockers selection apparently they have dropped significantly both of those things because people are using more technology they're using fancy wireless doorbells perhaps with video streaming on them all their mobile phone is waking them up instead of an alarm clock the traditional old alarm clock as Hattie said what's great about doing it on your mobile phone is you choose the Chuen that you wake up to and you can even have these ones that gradually start making easier for us so Mark my words then I weigh 20731933 call law and let's get this song title salted. 080-7313 double 3 is the number that you need to call to take part in Mark my words this morning. And Dad and they always want to be lifted up to go on they you know no yeah so it was ideal for the children and of course I can i was fair. When somebody comes to the house from to have a doorbell as well Lorraine I don't. Yeah and they they ship as I call it so does it ring like a bell you. Know it's just in the most. Supposing it can. I love a client announcing somebody and if you're feeling particularly antisocial you could hear the clang of them run in the opposite end of the house I don't know. Very true but yeah trends were the draw. I went yeah just thought I would be only the wireless but there we go it was your big moment Lorraine we've shared it together the L's in the house Sharon it's got the rain thank you so much for that but you don't notice many though when you go to other people's houses primarily on it and I'm a neighbor's got a proper bell you know. The proper bells. Now I don't know anybody who's got something I goes to be honest it's funny isn't it yeah well thank you very much the right to think not the other thing we were talking about was alarm clocks if you've got to get up in the morning how you waking up. Because I'm retired now I just seem to wake up at the time you know to guess so really. To look like this No listen I was going to say no let's let's do without the technology will come to the door knockers we've got the alarm clock no one not one but you've got a chance to get another guest in have a doorbell personel I can do about. It works but one I've never had to not cry the buts my doorbell which is great if you fill it on social right it is your question it's true or false question if you get it right you get another guess of the word for US Title U.S. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 in New York is that true or is it false Well I remember it was 3. I think it was. Thank you heal but it wouldn't be. I would only die. But I do remember the 3. Thanks Live Radio let's it the latest from Hatay thanks very much if you're in the brutal area this morning just watch out for those delays on Dobby road saw from goats like traffic around Millar's bridge it's all because of right what's in the area there's a length leisure in place it's causing congestion back to Strand Road at the moment good news in K.B. County where you return to normal and brighter actions around whole I'd just be aware there are temperatures in place that will slow things down this morning so as traffic picks up later in the day that may cause delays again but for now it's all a can play so just so delays on Dobby road impetus to watch out for at the moment if I'm missing something big let me know about it call a travel on if it's safe and legal I want 51794953 join as a D.V.C. So we are playing Mark my words a bit I'm a bit fed up I know one word is gone yeah I know I mean. I like I like success Sean loves that when people die I know I'm the complete opposite I mean my ideal scenario is that the quiz would go every day seriously when I do because I do only what 1st my quiz on the odd occasion nobody gets it right I feel like I failed my friends whom I sent Sean C's it is the biggest thing is that I know no one gets a I think this is hard because it's not it's not only the little words is it that like the which is gone and. 100 words they're not there Joy You were there tricky are words yeah there is a. But. If we get later in the week we'll give a clear well thank goodness a favor and showing give saying it's a clay but you know it's forwards it could be destroyed many would die yes absolutely 080731133 now this morning we've been talking about alarm clocks and door bells and door knockers and all of those things about the sales of them are going down dollars are going on with you because of technology so do you still have an alarm coming technology just makes this lazy doesn't it is that I can't be bothered to lift my hand out. And I kind of like the clang of a knocker you know it's a kind of a nice definitive I borrow my Somebody here so we want to hear about you want to quit that a lady who's other shit spouse why she was at the challenge all if that was the most unusual door knocker that there is out there is the people I've seen on this in the shape of folks but also on usual doorbells as well for people of songs that I did notice it didn't it's like he's a point average to need up the average. And also people have seasonal ones don't I . Do people have Christmas ding dongs. If. You don't love a Christmas thing. And you get away with it but for you know like him a cheap bargain shop one of those like a. Throwaway. Touches I just showed. It To him it was like yeah it was like a skill that you pushed. I was really disgruntled that none of the kids trick or treating spoke today behind all the foliage you know you're going to. Have to do better so so I wanted to say let us know how you go on unusual doorbell we want the most unusual yes because we like listen we know we're a bit strange and it's OK if you're well if you have to ring or Christmas we will want to hear it. Your way she's a choice she's often out the ding dong is wrong she's. Let us know what you did 7313 double 3. Feel. Wow. As soon. As you just plain Oh I am a B.B.C. Radio side so Mom I was had another guess in that could one of the words Be don't know an awful word song title it is not in there I'm afraid so I'll leave you to think about it overnight because we'll bring it back again tomorrow morning and had the bosses just said that perhaps we can give a clue tomorrow. Happens tomorrow because it is tricky we'll give a little bit of a claim she's now narrowing our eyes up my son will have to see on that one so that we're back to Mori for you mark my words Now up next we're going to be speaking to a young man he's coming to the studio very soon. Made it to the finals of The Voice Kids U.K. And is now taking on the lead in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar later on we're going to be heading life to the Elbe adult quite colorful statues being unveiled there was similar ones in Vegas and Miami but it's the 1st one of its kind to appear in the U.K. A Where else would it come but to Liverpool of course much as I twenty's coming up after 11 o'clock I play 2 songs that cover versions the same song but 2 different versions you just have a listen to his if you prefer one of them and young hearts our quiz will be coming up very soon Tony the Tiger from Ellesmere Port is the current champ you can give us a call on our 807-3113 double 3 if you fancy taking it on it is of course she's right she's there you should just be the day after Monday the day before Wednesday but at the moment and for another 2 weeks today our next week it's Bake Off day from a oh yes Tuesdays break of days patisserie wake semifinalists. Get to 8 o'clock tonight Channel 4 I do love it maybe not as much as I have in previous series Doc is just a really difficult. But I must remember to get a saucy cake and I like to have a cake to eat whilst I'm watching that. If . You want to get. You to Easynews you come you've got to. Give you. This. Because I need to feel you can. Bite. Morning 23rd of October so. I've got a 5 year old and an 8 year old. Moves all the times the things did well that excuse doesn't work in certain circles for sure there's always loads to do a Christmas he sighed and if you know of any You're not so performers looking for inspiration take them along to Liverpool's. Jesus Christ Superstar on stage that is being produced by the Hayes perform for 950 company I'm joined by a couple. Involved in the theater company will Callan and K. Allison join me now to chat about it Kate we'll start with you you've been in jail involved with the theater company for quite some time what is it you do that will kind of I'm the artistic director and the director and producer of all the big fear to productions so I oversee everything I'm going to say a lot of house to where they haven't I'm not sure backgrounds My but I was an actor for many years and then I was involved interacting in a my own theatre company in London then moved back up north back home and I've been involved in theatre and education since then and I salute you love it do you still do some acting after a little bit in the last few years I love I love the other side more now I suppose I get on the other things out of people and working with young people is just the most rewarding thing I've ever done Yeah really how wonderful now it's all to will now your local lad Where you from I'm from them call is from Roll Call and how did you get into this whole acting and perform a well in primary school I was involved in all the school shows and I was definitely going for the main parts then did you get the numerator yes yes yes always the no right to you Joseph when you were in primary No we never actually did the. Culture is really strange is strong strange OK so he did it in primary school and you knew straight away you liked it yes and then I joined leper about 7 or 8 years ago. And you're how old now 15 so you were like 7 or 8 years old so joined like but wow Well I heard about weapons when I was when I was 7 or 8 I'm not sure if I joined them but you were part think you were running into an audience when I was I joined it yes and at that point I know it's quite a while ago a few to remember but at that point were you already kind of thinking this is what I want today you know definitely I've never really thought of any other career paths and he's always been a little star really. You know what's funny because you hear about you know these big stars he won Oscars and things and they'll say oh yeah we used to put shows on for the neighbors. Honestly saying one of these people say never happened in my house and I know the more people I mean I realize there's actually loads of those people so you were probably one of them performing a highway Yeah yeah well it's strange because I really do enjoy performing in front of audiences and I get more nervous when I'm backstage than I do when I'm on stage like they're just completely disappear and performing I was actually a struggle for me because performing in front of family that are going to be more judgments holding people you don't know is that I know exactly what you mean and you quite often do you find that people who perform even people who do my job right quite often quite shy in real life if she kind of you have this this persona that you can become when you act and now you we've seen you on telly that will have a way yes you might have what does that tell us do tell tell all while I was on The Voice Kids U.K. This year back in July amazing So take us through how that that started that you did you see an outfit for Voice Kids something called WANT to love a guy would somebody give you a push How did it work I was on the T.V. Website when I saw a link for signing up for The Voice Kids and I put an application form forward and it said at the bottom is there anything you want to link to your application form and then I put my Instagram and while I was on holiday a few months later I got an email back saying that we've we've seen your Instagram and things like that we think you'd be right for the show I don't your Instagram of the videos on there is yeah yes it was singing and space or maybe it was for about 2 or 3 years my playing piano and singing so tell us about being on The Voice What was that like did you learn loads from it definitely it was such a great experience because I got to perform with this massive live band and be performing in front of such a big audience I think it really helped me with my confidence and I had an amazing very cool coach back stage who taught me some techniques that I still use right now and I have been using in rehearsals for Jesus in case anybody hasn't seen. The voice is the talent show where the judges don't see you so it's purely on talent and what I hear which I think's just a fabulous concept so here with the judges fear the judges for me will rely on Pixie Lott and Danny germs I was there somebody in particular you wanted I did particularly want Pixie because I knew more about the others and I did actually listen to all 3 of them when I was growing our book I think you have the same genre of music the dialect Yes absolutely OK let's bring up to 9000 July usually when you're talking to people who want 15 but let's just jump on 10 years let's just jump on 3 months so here we are Jesus Christ Superstar Now Kate that's a big production for young people today you and I well known production so what made you go I know let's did Jesus Christ Superstar Well we did Les Mis last year oh OK so we're on the big No we evaluate you know we go big you know we do go and we thought we thought we'd start with the big iconic one that everyone knew which was Les Mis But then my favorite my personal favorite a couple of the stuff of our stuff in the team we all thought should we do Jesus question we do the big rock opera and go completely the other way whereas you know this is obviously the you know everything everyone knows Les Mays everyone loves it and we thought jesus christ superstar is kind of mom might people will really love it or maybe not but the controversy is something I really like so I think. Tested it out with with the group and with the young people they really took to it on the whole rock vibe I think they really went with and we we really enjoyed it and loved it and with the young people aware of it as much as the other ones like climate is or where they kind of always there was about Jesus he's got religious connotations I'm not going to be interested in that was there any of that would be people know it you know the young people didn't know it really or that's what I'm not and that was the challenge but I think because my generation and the team that I work with we all loved it and grew up with it and thought This is something that young people should know about and actually yes it is has got religious connotations but it's also about every man and it's about humanity and it's not really it's not really saying anything other than they seized this is something to celebrate and actually really. Really enjoy and just come along and experience something completely amazing probably quite different than you've ever seen before yes probably a GREAT things I have younger people performing in or something like that because it kind of brings along that young generation to a musical that you wouldn't think they'd listen to and it's opening up their minds as well as the people watching you know what part do you play well I'm playing Jesus cos he's our Jesus. This is a low pressure that so you do you how does it work in your organizations you were dishing for roles so you were deficient for 8 years and you got the part how did you feel about getting parts I felt great I think it was definitely probably one of the most challenging roles of ever I've ever been given after an audition the auditions were about a year ago so we have a January they're nearly a year ago but we only rehearse on a Saturday So really we've only had 3035 rehearsals which will show if the size is huge because we've got a huge live orchestra as well and you know be quite an amazing vocal coach and choreographer on the team so we've got so this isn't like let's just best just break this down this isn't like some amateur production let's just happening on the road like so local great not really know although they're all young people it's you know it's very professional the production values are really high and you know we've got we've got an amazing wardrobe manager or an assistant director and it's the team the team a lot of them work fell voluntarily and that's that's crazy you know that in this in this day and age it's it's it's wonderful for me and for the young people to kind of experience that we all kind of McCain and make this happen it's magic really is there a favorite number for you for me well the one of definitely worked on the most is get some money because that's Jesus's So that's kind of the tipping point of the whole musical is realisation that he's got to go along with everything that's been . And for the whole musical 6 I wish I could be like him when I was 50 Yeah you know listening to you talk a little you know how you compose yourself it's very We're both very very operable so tell us the details of Jesus Christ Superstar when where how can we get tickets OK it's at the Epstein theatre this week in Liverpool those day Friday Saturday there are 2 shows on Saturday the Thursday and Friday shows are in the evening and then there's a Saturday show in the afternoon and the evening and you can get tickets from the Epstein theatre box office or online and if somebody wanted to join. Your group yes sorry he's performing live for 19 How would they do that is that accessible to people absolutely yes they could contact me at the heath performed before 1000 and we do have a Facebook page which is like before 19 the heath and its 4 dash 19 is that it's for colon 19 for color 19 what's next for both of you then Kate will start with you what's the what's next obviously like a month Slate Well you know you say you've gotten a little raring to go I think again. Well we just applied for the rights for something else and we haven't heard back yet so where on tenterhooks I guess it's a big gig and they say yes it's a big classic What about you will what's next for you Well this week's my week off at the school holiday and we've got very intense rehearsals coming up tomorrow actually and I have to balance that with revision for my marks from my G.C.S.E. Is next week sat next to a yes or. Thank you and then I've got a real G.C.S.E. Next May And after that I think I'm obviously going to carry on musical theatre because it's something I just want to study it yes yes that's what you want Still I'm not really set on a college yet as soon as I define our probably bigger over the musical theater course I was going to say is musical theater where you're ambitious like Under Armor and drama as a whole. Like a quarter of a threat really it's as if you play the piano did you say yeah which kind of links into my other side of singing which is part of the kind of things into the voice because after that I had just been signed to a management team. When I just dropped that I had called instruction. Hopefully we'll have some things coming soon oh well this is amazing a fantastic story and great that we've got you in here working out of what she go along and rise through the ranks all the best with. The plan and if anyone wants to come along please do because it's going to be a really wonderful shot and I think we said at the beginning as well if you've got kids who by my 8 year olds just started doing drama classes who are a bit before me they are like me and have jazz hands get them along and they can be inspired by what they say cause it's great to see like the like to see people like you on the stage doing all the very best the production thank you so much for. The hour. To our. The out. But further afield. To. BLOCK to the moment. Up to 24. At the moment it's also affecting the. Opposite side of carriage rights of the people sliding to look at backs and so M 6 southbound just expect delays for some time I'll keep you updated on that little bit closer to home just to remind to impute to Davi rode southbound traffic around the junction of formulas bridges because of a length those roadways causing congestion to Strand Road out of my things to watch out for at the moment keep your updates coming in I want 51794953. Join me Linda Mike for a late night life on B.B.C. Radio my seaside reminds me of that lovely old book by the late Fritz Spiegel a great Western rock and he wrote a funny book called Learn yourself Scouse Yes which is still good I have to let a lot of the things that we said here drop when I move south because no one could understand us it understand and years ago never used to say made up it was used to say made of I did say to act when she came back and she passed her driving test and I still you made up she went on out of. Tune in to Late Night Live With Me Linda Mackie on B.B.C. Radio Merseyside So the royal tour continues with Prince Harry and Meghan I love I all the something that is great about them you know I think William started off but Maria Meghan even more so they just seem I mean what I say down to earth she's still wearing designer dresses and they're flying about beat they do seem like lovely people I think people of course genuine war is a bit cheeky got in trouble in the past now we settle down he's found his movie star go round she's beautiful I just I can honestly just gaze at her face she's so beautiful but yesterday he was questioned whilst on the tool of the about the baby news a big news baby coming and somebody kind of said to him Do you have a preference now I haven't seen this footage but I have read in many places that he said he was hoping for a. Big shot. Because in years to come if he has a boy people their children will be able to read yeah yeah definitely So I that's why I covered my own back there someone said I haven't seen it I've heard this and he said I mean usually people if they do have a preference they don't say did you have a preference nor tool I was just really like I don't model is how thing and I was for that but I assumed that I would always up always because on down side there's very few girls it's always boys it's mom had 2 boys and then before that his grandparents had 2 boys every month is what you have I had a boy for yes and then I had a girl which was a great only really special year because in my head I'd always love the one grace I would have picked out for years by was like I'm never going to get use it because I'm not going to have a little girl obvious like now and I was fine without so called Be nice to have a brother I think I'll never have and then when she came out like. I was made up I'm one of each one of AI Yeah I think you strike Larry Larry so my for I didn't really want a girl I didn't say to anybody I didn't say to my husband nobody but I did really want to go and I think partly that's because I'm an only child and so I'm kind of used to being the only girl around I don't know I think it was to do with that and then when I was expecting 2nd time both of them were surprises we didn't find out what we were having so I wanted to surprise and I kind of said It's win win with the 2nd because. Radio your now today we're talking about takeaways and I don't know how keen you are on take was apparently in Yorkshire and the Humber we've seen the biggest rise in takeaway outlets that you know than anywhere else in the U.K. Apart in the Northeast that is the that is the place where everybody wants a takeaway I don't know if you saw and have heard of this guy dipsy 40 stone and actually in his local area in the Northeast the takeaway shops are they've they've got posters in there saying do not give this man take away because it's killing him basically and he is trying to lose weight they've got him on a regime has got a personal trainer because it stands for mental to his health but anyway I'm just thinking and since May in the gaze and moved out of her ago where there were a lot of takeaways on Leeds where I would live just off that. Love takeaways there were we when we moved down to the stakes courses no one is easily accessible and on sort of intake has gone down dramatically so it saves a fortune to save the trip. Sometimes it can be really annoying because you just feel like you'd like when you're so come on how many times are you doing it a week is it just once in a blue moon maybe what is your poll showing for the takeaway How often are you nipping out to the shops. Or maybe doing the delivery thing yeah where is just so easy and so accessible not in the States it's not but let me know lots of ways to get in contact this morning how often are you having a takeaway. Bridge that remains closer into the 21st of December which annual maintenance but. Trains are magnificent more 25. Radio. Likes a takeaway is it Chinese maybe or an Indian Malay tell you know maybe it's chippy tea we get the chip van once a week in our village it's all out there you know for the taking and figures show there's now even more than ever before Yorkshire and the Humber has seen the biggest rise in outlets out of any way in the U.K. There's almost 4000 takeaways in regions and the reason of all is well that's up almost 70 percent. And in the last 8 years so who's a single this what. Has been ever discussed on the Lahti trail. Oh yeah. We did that one guy yours it was in he was really opens a character him in and said look what they did in fish and chips and things like that and I said well it's not my responsibility not to feed him because in the real very I will look after him 1st Terry cook the money ran out of fish and chip shop in Scarborough he told me over the counter that he does try to keep an eye on his customers calorie into the dough try to put you out right try to keep it down a bit not to get rich I would think to a large fish out of chips and look really that Geisel with this edition in the so-called English. She would never just refuse you if you came in that our refusal but they come in I will invite like to fish to eat themselves as factual more he said nothing else where he's so we've got to get down my face as well as given for that and I say with the smell of fish and chips still lingering in my nostrils about us the people in Scarborough Why do they indulge in fast food we've got very busy lives these days and it's easier than cooking at home so we do tend to have more than we should probably tell you I'd say you probably have more than you should how many would you say that is then on a weekly basis we have at least one maybe $200.00 of thought our kids for instance we've got 3 grown up kids and they probably all takeaways and we do it again it's busy lives of them got the time to cook and I got into that habit of buying rather preparing if I've been at work also and although it is it today is a bit different it's a bit on my friends and like the shell to get a quick bite when I'm on Ice I work fairly well work in a bar so when I finish itself dollar level of clocks a lot less of closeness just seems very quick to really like I don't think there's anything wrong with the governor to take what I want so while you can indulge but it shouldn't be there if they go to. What she offered I mean you look like a lot of see want to quit busy lifestyles and it's just quick and easy and we enjoy them a very good have a son though that's only souls that make you feel and you say you know quite flippantly have a son we all eat it take away what you think about that it's up to his life I mean the whole family is all that it doesn't. Whether you love them all of them takeaways and off Yorkshire are most certainly on the rise already the Chinese pizzeria or rum still wrote to find out how often he sees the same faces coming through the door to order food and it is sometimes 2 or 3 times a week sometime once a week most are good as the like of a single you know they just work and. They don't have to cook they don't have to wash down the do nothing they said it because it's easy how many take away just too many Turkey ways to weigh in a week to think city is to me once a week it's a good mix so much of modern too it's not good Tony from Tony's Pizzeria around the road in Scarborough there's a couple of takeaways a week are OK according to Tony maybe once a week but any more than that is too many said Tell me about your takeaway intake How many do you have a week are they a regular meal or are they a treat you see for me it's always a treat but it's it's sort of rare that we did because as I say we live on the sticks and there's not anywhere easily accessible as a car rides it's like more petrol to go and get yourself a takeaway you heard there a lot of people saying busy lives just too busy to cook later on in the show I'm going to speak to Joe law now he says spend hundreds of pounds a month on takeaways his weight ballooned to 29 stone he's lost around half of that now and he's become a fitness guru while the last 15 is now a fitness guru that is signed to a spot is no he should have some good advice on both diet and menus and I did mention Tanya. The American. Rami Malik is outstanding as Queen flamboyant lead singer Freddie Mercury he told me he studied hours of footage to capture the way Freddy spoke and moved and went into a regiment of sorts the Freddy Mercury die perhaps. It's quite daunting it's an immense responsibility he is glorious human being walks on stage with a cape in a crown might as well be Superman. Were you were you all right I want you in order to have that confidence I thought Where should I start and I started building it in all of those costume fittings I would go in there with hair makeup teeth you know you're not going to believe it but the sequin leotard was something I feared for months and when I put it on I was a year in shape then struck with. Freddie Mercury was born for example Sarra in sand off the coast of East Africa his parents were Indian and the family moved to London when Freddie was 17 says Freddie had to deal with racism as well as struggling to come to terms with his own sexuality the man is a revolutionary on so many levels I mean when you listen to his mom talk I mean you hear a very distinct Indian good Durante accent he comes from his Zorro ass tree and face that really. They frown upon anything that is anything other than being heterosexual he had a lot of things to overcome to become everything he wants to be and when he gets the opportunity boy does he sing it as loudly and powerfully as he can take 37 years. Paid my dues. Freddie Mercury's life was cut tragically short by AIDS but his music is unstoppable his new film is a reminder of the magic and majesty of Queen. Amazing James Alexander there were that report talking to. The star of the show queen the biopic it's Bohemian Rhapsody and you know it seems to be geared towards the Live Aid Wembley appearance and I'm just wondering was anybody at Wembley for the iconic performance like remember being Dorsett watching Live Aid with my mom on a tiny little telly but my word was that much of a if you were let me know this morning 100 trouble 14849. It's a play and crazy now I'm asking about takeaway this morning there are more food outlets in Yorkshire than ever before research by B.B.C. Radio York has found that the number of takeaway. Has risen by almost 70 percent in the last 8 years Barry and thirsty if you may recall this morning he says he never has takeaways Well he says he had one once and he says he only eats when he prepares himself he says he's very selective about what he eats makes all his own meals that way knows exactly what's going into his food and on the doorbell front he's got 2 doorbells both batteries a flat 2 door knockers and an air raid siren Well that's going to wake the neighbors Oh oh tell me everything the traditional doorbell because John Lewis has reduced its range of doorbells an alarm clocks because we're turning to new technology the alarm clocks have been replaced by our mobile phones ago I'm guilty of that and the traditional door knocker has been replaced by smart doorbells which stream live videos. It's high tech. And he got a better deal than this one. Give us a bell news calling. David J. Batteries in his doorbell Good morning. To me shoes off for the masses I come in I think. Radio York it's up a 67 percent in the last 8 years with around 4000 Alice now open across our region that's the biggest rise in the U.K. Joe law used to live on takeaways until he gave up and lost 5th. I did that for you to live yes I see can it's outsold Monday night but you're going to hear that it's actually pretty interesting doors while the guest doors doors Yes Doris Charlie but I was talking about the door and not be the door is the music group it's just doors things that you walk in and out of 123. While the Interior who perfect segue into Rebecca we do have a back here we'll be talking about Rebecca here momentarily but before we talk about or to Rebecca's help I would like as I do this have low Good evening night right there you go I see you know what part it is Lizzy We miss you thanks thanks for missing me. Lizzie what is going on in your segment today I'm going to talk about cheaters Oh that's going to be yeah some of y'all might not like me after this I got I'm a learn something and learn something how to be a better cheater no you cannot act like you know you've got to cheat I guess that Jack said Ok fair enough I brought it in and again Rebecca is here today with us. And I really want to talk a little about criticism but before I even talk about criticism I want to talk to Rebecca about where she's from where she's been at and I was in my segment good opportunity to find out about the positive and the criticism she's had both positive and negative in the field you've been in and what we need to do to help improve those. Stereotypes are relationships within those communities if that's Ok Rebecca Yes aborts What's your last name. Ok. You just got to say I did talk but people are black and I said I don't know something clever but you know my last name Paul Ok Rebecca Hall Michigan and stuck a desire to do oh oh oh but didn't she. Well Wally Yes it is time for this common sense something that Doris you know you're excited about Doris Mideast and you have to say it because it probably all been to all of a restaurant or bar or something and you go through a door that says pull and you may need to push exactly Horley designed. Because if back 942 doors were well there was a very important because they go in and out of buildings but if you ever think about how doors are designed. Most people go so here's a story in 142 there was a nightclub called the Coconut Grove and it was a very popular nightclub you could see it about 400 people and they had a revolving door in the front and the doors in the back swung to open them you had to pull inward and you might not think that's a big deal but one night there were 400 people in there and there was a fire inside the nightclub. And so half the people went towards the front door which was a revolving door and you know revolving doors only work when people go one way through them but in a panic state people try to go both ways so when you have people pushing on both sides of a revolving door the revolving door doesn't spin until they were trapped the people who went out the back trying to go through the the doors that would pull you had to pull them inward because people were rushing everyone jammed up against the door and you were unable to pull the door open so that's why doors now on the outside of buildings always open outward because that way if you've been pushed in a panic. The doors will open and then you'll get out of the building so when I was in Europe they don't open that way really so then I mean there are fire traps Yeah essentially I forget which country I was in but I was like This is so strange I don't know who has Denmark or Italy but they open inwards. So they're just waiting for a disaster like the Coconut Grove disaster because in the cook at the Grove disaster they there was about 300 people died Oh not not only through smoke inhalation but actually being burned to death because the place was jammed and the doors would would not open so of but he died. Most people died some people escaped but the one problem about dollars that nobody thinks about also this is another problem airlines you never think about the cargo hold the door swings inward into the cargo hold and the reason they do that is because of the lock on the door fails the pressure on the inside of the plane the cargo hold would jam the door against the frame so the door would not open. I mean it's still it's designed not to fail even if it does fail so what happened was one airline manufacturer decided to have the cargo hold doors open outward so that way you could put more luggage inside the cargo hold and of course you know eventually the door is going to fail and that's exactly what happened then when the door blew out then all the luggage blew out. So they could not do that anymore but it's just a simple design that you would think people would understand but it just has a lot of. Implications for you know safety hazards or just anything well mostly like Rebecca when you obviously you've got to tour around certain areas or certain countries and say during those doors be an inward and outward I don't really pay too much to. You know you know I'm always more looking for an exit or who's behind me if you know if the door doesn't open the right way all this kick it down. Scared Also now I don't know if you guys have ever noticed this revolving doors there is a mechanism on them to be able to push through them well now all of those also with revolving doors as all side doors Yeah that are mandated to be next door so that way you can go up the side door rather than Then the revolving Longoria but revolving doors are dangerous just because they they require the cooperation of people and if they don't cooperate in that they will cooperate in a panic exactly like the hotels all the time ones like they're slow where they're downtown you know has a slow moving revolving door never wants to jump in the kids are playing in their. Traps Well I'll tell you a death trap just as you were talking about in Europe that the doors go in work I was in Zimbabwe once and I went to a movie theater and the movie to get there you had to go up a flight of stairs and then you were in the theater and I thought all about that's kind of cool when the movie was over I didn't realize it but the only exit and entrance into that fear there was that one staircase and so the people trying to get into the movie after my movie was over were all lying in the stairs and so for everyone to get out we had to go down those same stairs and so I literally my feet did not touch to the stairs at all I was essentially pushed down the stairs with all these people pushing me along and that's how everyone got out of the theater that's insane and when I got out I realized wow this is a total death trap. Good way to lose your wallet Oh yeah I guess you can pick pocket but that they were pretty friendly they want is a criminal 98 as people say in New York or Los Angeles so you think this simple I mean when I know it seems simple because we're seeing doors open and close inside or outside up or down right or right or whatever but you also see movies with the trap door and the door is inside or outside of the locked in from the inside or you know things like I was pushing in and out always knows that as well I'm actually just Wally when you well guess bus a slight movement nobody because they don't have an open and close anymore like a used to they slide open it's a sliding door worse. I would think so because if you're in a panic you have to take the time to slide it open where if the door just swings on a hinge and swings outward you can get pushed through the door and then you're free so let's say you're in a bomb and you want to open a door is it easier to kick in when they are in or they swing him out and I'm assuming and I'm just but would you say honestly like the whole like make it down the door concept it doesn't happen like I don't know if any of you have actually tried to kick down into I have and I actually kicked the door knob through the door and the door didn't move so it's a lot more difficult than it sounds but if you have demolition it doesn't really matter you can blow but. Let's just open the door at this point but I mean but I predict this point because we mentioned earlier sometimes you go to a door and you think you pull it or you have it and then you have to push it and you think of anything right because it's poorly designed if the door should be if you push it just a flat metal plate because it would be nothing for you to grab onto something you know you have to push it and if you have to pull it should be or are a something so that way you know you have to pull it so even that simple design a skate so many products that are being designed today I used to work at General Dynamics on their cruise missile and the cruise missile was a trailer that had a door handle case you didn't know well as a genius Thank God I just work on it not a learning you know it was if you haven't figured it out and it's genius it's so humble about it it was so well Ok here's what was the cruise missile ground launch cruise missile it was in the church towed behind with a trailer and the people were in the trailer to launch the missile and of course they needed the door to get in the trailer and so the door swung open and it was up big rod you. Pole to open the door Well the problem was the way the door handle was was designed it was hooked it created like a hook so when the car the trailer was moving forward it would catch branches and tree limbs and she trunk and snapped the handle off once that that that was snapped off you consulted. It was such a simple design and yet it cost the government millions of dollars at the child's life out to realize hey the door handle cannot be acting like a hawk we have to switch it around you know funny story about that the military needs to get on that too especially in the barracks because we were how they had him design we had to share a bathroom for 2 different rooms and I actually got locked in the bathroom one time because you can't go into the other and they can lock it from the outside so I had my you know my other roommate locked the door because they're changing or something so they locked a door on the outside of the bathroom and I was going to the bathroom in my other roommate came in and locked the door so someone come into that room. Yeah that's a little rigors I was in the barracks now on Tunnel 10. In a condemned in the condemned barracks I might add on mikes and yeah we looked and condemn the officer like tears mold growing everywhere or was fine but here is another man dollars hard at work it is another example of a door so to launch the cruise missile it was in a covered canister and it would raise up elevate so you could she did that angle just thinking of like North Korea like the parades that the right thing to take throws in right Kim Jong un loves throwing parades and these are actually interesting parades because it's the biggest parade in the world that isn't sponsored by the l g b t community. But the group the cruise missile it with came in the canister and the canister was placed in a launching tube and then the launching tube had a door that would blow open so you could launch the cruise missile. But the problem was they did not design the canister long enough to reach the door so there was a space of about 50 feet. Where if the missile came out of the canister it would and it would hit the side of the door and either wreck it self or just maybe it would go through but most of the time it was just wreckage self so then they had to spend spend another chunk of millions of dollars to design a longer canister a buffer we have had it was a attachment to the attachment While these can make it longer well because they had already made them stupid so they had all these tensions right so they had all of these short tubes that wouldn't work see Rebecca's left because she was in the military my mind isn't really wrong place but you were in the military Harvard and yet you know I was there to listen my mind was the same thing so we both have got our minds but you were in the village you know how inefficient the military is just from personal experience so you can imagine how much worse it is with the people so-called intelligent people who are designing and ordering these this equipment that doesn't work and you think America's bad you can imagine what China and Russia and North Korea's military must be like with just a some simple thing as a door. How to make the doors of this wing in or out on the on the Apollo missions I don't know that's a good question. I was thinking about it oh well yeah I mean space matter I guess sure going outside I don't know even though a door seems to me and so simple that there's so much to think about really what they're 0 if it's designed properly and that. It was a thing like staring No I'm just these this is the look I make when I'm thinking. What about what about in the house what about if you have like a door that you know like the screen door and then the regular door so the regular will open up inside and the screen open to all right because we're in you when you're in a house you don't have a mob of people generally who are trying to get out so that's why in public buildings you're going to find Joyce swing it out with unless you happen to be in Europe where Lizzie was I'm pretty sure it was Denmark like 90 percent sure it was Denmark that they opened in word right but that makes no sense from a fire safety point of view. Yeah I mean I just think that when I walk through a house I mean I think would be more secure if you door you have to open it by pulling it because then you close it against the frame or whatever strength you would have behind that comparison to trying to break in. The opposite way we're kicking the door in and use you're opening the door going in you know I'm saying and I don't know why we don't have homes like that is it fire is it were reasons behind that that we don't do that more often it's the way that voice wings in the private home yes I have no idea but I assume that because they everyone thought you just have a dollar swing inward and that's what they did that for public buildings like the Coconut Grove until they realized the deal is when it would it's a fire trap but with homes they still do it the doors swing inwards when Marines can come over and it's going well so many things I would imagine it's also a security issue like in the case of someone trying to get into your house you can then barricade the door so that they can't come in. And make sense see you know you might people on but you know but you can bear but get to the door you know if you got a problem is in the hold of the pulled in this for him to push. We timed Novelis if you open the door if you look a door right you lock a door the door I want is trying to come into my house right and I'm on the other side in my home and I'm trying to protect my home but I don't want them kicking my door and I can barricade things against my door but if the door swung back out where they could just come in but I know they would if it's more strength for the people that would do it for them to push. You know I don't use arguments that I'm up in the chair behind a dam you know where she says you kick a knob in my brake often and we're talking about like a bookshelf and how much against it you know but then you can have locks that keep it from from falling but you're right someone has the key to my house. Well then to get it not if I put a couch in a bookshelf up against it and everything every piece my classmates say should I get it or if I have 5 people standing up against it you know I mean with all my might I see this is a tempest like. I work in a hospital so we think back to shooter and they tell us to barricade into a room and put things up against door because those doors like in he should rooms and stuff they open in Word so if you get stuck in a room and barricade and hide and then if he comes to show you then swarm an attack and use everything you can to throw and take down so the door swung outward that you're not making use of and nothing to barricade yourself but if you when it swings in where you can barricade with pads and whatever else if and another friend sure that's in the room same thing in your house if someone's trying to break into your home you can use your furniture to barricade yourself in and chances are if it's harder to get into your home they're going to give up they're not going to go through the racket of trying to get in your 2nd stuff if you're stacking stuff and it's going to make more of a noise and run the risk of them getting hurt if you have time to push them and so I don't know if the cultures and everything else we can do although you know I don't know one case scenario that would actually happen like if I had if I was trying to break into a house and they had they had time to go put a bookshelf there I would leave that's not so very right I'm going to some cultures over something that you know well we've been seeing that for years though while we've been seeing over cartoons and seen on t.v. Put people putting things up because to do it so many movies. That's what it is well what's the conclusion what we need to do about these doors are just looking at something as simple as a door you realize there's a lot of faults or has to go behind it in order to get a dollar that works or you can imagine it people have trouble getting dollars to work it is no help in getting our political system to work you know well so on that note we'll be right back with Lizzy Lou. Just. For. Our. Future. And where gets me underground point one f.m. . Organ also notes from the comic and that's notes for the letter you. Also see some other shows on Caymans j. . During the week that being said Lizzie Yes she did. Now I say this with personal experience of the following a good experience or never is. Actually bring this up I went through. I guess you could call it recently the s o b broke my heart but I come to find out I was his mistress for a year while seeing. Now I knew sort of. That he had a girlfriend but. And I get so much slack for this I'm sure. I didn't know the extent of the relationship and then I things started to feel not right for me this went on for a year and then I found out not only was she the girlfriend but she was the wife and they had 2 children and he had lied to me because I had asked him about it repeatedly and lied to me about it for a year. And I bring this up because there was actually an article I read on and it was caused and most women get vilified for being the mistress and really it's not fair whereas the person the guy or girl and whatever it is in the situation. Never really gets any blame and usually gets to keep their wife or their husband or whomever it is and might get. A hard time and they might go through therapy and but they get to keep it meanwhile a person like me my shoes who fell madly in love with a purse and in my mind that was my boyfriend and we were mutually in love is painted as a harlot and it's not fair and I'm left to pick up the pieces or the harlot the mistress is left to pick up the pieces now I have been cheated on myself when I found out he cheated I give him one chance found out he did You can like a week later and I was like get out and it's just like it's not fair so this article that this woman wrote she said you know I knew it that he had a girlfriend but in my mind we were spending all this time together we were best friends she was in a real person like and how can their relationship be so good if we're spending all this time together and we you know. Our relationship is rock solid and we have such a tight bond and that's how I felt like and it wasn't until I saw a picture of the 2 of them together that she became a real person so coming from that side of the story like for all the women who have been jilted by their husbands boyfriends whatever don't be so mad at the woman that you know cheated on like that was the mistress like people has to offer a friend be pissed off at your husband like it's a man just want to be loved she fell in love with with some jerk who you're married to or you stayed with you know a member it's funny to silicon The guy was playing the England Princess Diana you know person Charles married or worry when he's with the woman that it's always been his mistress mistress or his woman he's always loved probably even more than Princess Diana whether he was allowed to marry Camilla Well that's as crazy but they were both in love for years and years of marrying Princess Diana which they weren't as in love again only their relationship but obviously it didn't work out like you would expect it. To. How do you feel about that when you see that from my from my hierarchy like that you know I'm saying of people that are on that level it shows the voices and think that about him even though they know that his mistress was always Camilla and Camilla Camilla Camillus because I think it's all right so I've been in relationships where I'm not happy and the temptation has been there to cheat if you're not happy in your relationship cut and run I don't care if you have kids if you're not happy it is better off for you to leave a relationship it is not healthy for your children to see Mom and Dad and happy together. And fake it for the sake of them then to carry on behind their back because children are much more perceptive than you think you think that William and and Harry didn't know that Dad was sneaking around with Camilla of course they knew of course course they know so and the fact like the royals are a different story because they wouldn't let Charles marry Camilla because she was a divorcee and he was next in line for the throne so he would have had to abdicate the throne and. Lizzie was going to let that happen so I mean. If you're not happy then cut and run and 2nd it's complicated I mean like it's I would just say for me like I'm asking Rebecca Have you ever been in a there were like smile that you didn't think you would like for you fell for. That I didn't think I like the 1st well you know I'm just somebody you just know we would be attracted to might not be your cup of tea but you end up liking this person full of Reason No I usually know right away own web site within like the 1st day the 1st day I got like you the women are like I know you we can tell within 30 minutes whether or not we. Like you what you look for I I may be perfectly honest with you it is changed if you were to see my dating history be like I can't see a pattern. There's no commonality but I generally Personally I generally go for men who are smart and have a good sense of humor physically there's no. Comment like I have dated all different ethnicities all different heights all different shapes. But I like really smart men and they have to be very witty and just clever like worldly are very tolerant people. And emotionally mature they can't deal with Donald Trump. Well he's good for you he's got hope and so yes I just have to deal in you know those are the type of people I enjoy each be around and that I want to date so that would be probably the one common thread amongst school that I've dated and the boys think it says public there's boys in there right into the mix. Here but. When I wanted to make before and I forgot it. Oh. Yeah but I was going to say is it's not fair if you're unhappy to drag somebody else in China or Oh yes it's appalling don't throw somebody else in your dumpster fire like fix your own. And sometimes it's the easiest part of the fix your own mess because it what you're going to do is drag somebody else into your dumpster fire they're going to catch feelings and that you're going to screw up somebody else's life as well and that's that's so selfish. And I mean. This piece of work. Ruined me like I'm still reeling from a broken my heart neatly shattered my confidence like and no one really talks about the aftermath partly and like there are so many steps of bad as it's like death it is it is complete you wouldn't like it they don't even want to sleep I mean I'd be oh no I've been up until my death because of my dead dog died the MacGruber go within a week and the good things of those things you go through the numbness that was she broke up I'm finding out I met her. Services and the guy she's dating with a chip on his side behind her that night in the holds are told it's a real side and the 2 it's a go but again I'm not a few it was just me just brought out both debating with 0.0 is I don't want to talk about a fight so either doesn't want to be the Mr little to for me to go fight somebody say a fight you to be with a girl I don't want to be me I want to cheat other than just to from the media files walk with her the hard thing those biker singles you all oh yeah you order a lot this morning on the last person by the still a lot of them are dead maybe you would have a look at what I can I can't say that but I killed a girl you know but also that. I've given somebody part of your life to get some bipartisan hold and for them to want to abuse it or not be truthful with you let me take the option of cheating or not you get don't drag me into it like you give me the choice of whether or not I want in on this and if you here don't just and when I met him so when I met him. He told me I'm single and then I never thought I'd see him again I'm not going to be down like I'm not an easy person to track down on social media but he. Found them interesting enough to get a hold of me and downloaded can I give my phone number 60 and never and then he downloaded an opportunity to leave my phone back to me that I shouldn't get involved with their knowing obviously that he's. A wife and 2 kids that. Deleted it immediately regretted it and then download an app to find it and then search for me on Linked In because you couldn't find me on Facebook or any other social media because my name is not my real name on there and he was made real name and not losing lives which is my feeling Yes So there you go and the news I grew up in speed Good luck to you. So yes so and then I found that will. I'm in a relationship but it's not that serious and then you'll have girlfriend and I'm like oh you know. Whatever you're not here for very stressed lives here and then it was worldwide it. Fell in love when we were stupid and it was it was John I might have been very dumb on his behalf but then when I found out it makes saw the harsh reality of it and rage like. Voters prefer to commit murders and like I talk to my family about it and they're like color. Which is that it. Would destroy her life or the life of the children to be a spiteful person doesn't get me anywhere legal what was a beautiful view what is the benefit for me like he's got to live with that he's got a look at the eyes of the 2 kids and like sleep next to this person. It's on him but here you see here yes obvious as shit. And I said I hope one day your daughter comes to you saying it's a stupid boy has broken her heart because he's cheated on her and I try and feel about that So question for you Would you rather have that man like break it off with you some of the loves me were madly in love with would you rather have him break it off for it with you for some other reason not for cheating or would you rather have a cheating bastard Ok I'm done. But like I think the more painful ones are when they they weren't cheating on you and you you keep trying your oh my god maybe I'll work out maybe work out you know go years and years you know and you're always like what did I do wrong was it me was it me but when it's someone like that when it's someone cheated Oh no that was all you you can put all the blame on that and you're done so I've been cheated on and it sucks it's not a good feeling but I like I didn't even I just stopped all contact I didn't even tell him why and until I found I just disappeared and it was much easier than having like someone be like this isn't working out you know that crush that's all it would you want and Rebecca mentioned before that you said it would like. You know find out for us if closure to what you want closure to the other why did you would you ask and do women only want the answer to find out why this guy's cheating or the schools cheating on me or whatever because maybe and no the trust was broken and I was done I did and it was done I mean here's later it went on like family talk to him actually Well we're friends now we're actually cool. It's now been years so many times so yeah but you know it was I I was like when I'm done with something I'm done period and like done I don't care and this is just I mean it was a strong as you are what what. What it was his excuse to you and why he did what he is a coward and that's what he said he was a when I saw you. He was like it was I thought it was just going to be a flirtation and I didn't realize that what I was walking into was that I just thought you were going to be some. Dumb hot blonde and instead you are an incredible person and I was smitten from the 1st 30 seconds of speaking to you and I was like. You should have sat down next to me than you. But I mean I've been cheated on too and he and I are actually fine now like 12 years later. And I actually got an apology. I mean obviously years later and he told me still in love with me and always has been I'm like you screwed up like you you cheated on me not once I forgave you the 1st time and I was like do it again I'll cut your gonads off and when you do and I like I could do it with surgical precision. But you went did it again the next week I appreciate the honesty of telling me but you went and did it again like stay away from me and I did but I was crushed but what I ended up doing was getting the revenge body which was smokin hot body of time 24 and metabolism at 2324 is incredible to see him 35. But anyway I mean I still feel cheated on his in my mind like I knew that she existed but like I didn't have a face and I like and enough to see them together and like I didn't know the extent of the relationship and when I found. The ladies let me have you. Back if you're somebody No never never meant to put on your dog it's nothing but you know the dog. Have you Elizabeth and I have never cheated on a boyfriend and i believe me I wanted to and I have come very close and it has been I've had an inappropriate flirtation. But when I really like when I noticed that I was like this is this relationship with my boyfriend has got to go and terminate the relationship you know why would you dedicate like if you want to date have a good time we dedicate ourselves to say for a man and us men will dedicate ourselves to that woman well you know one of us touch that that's my love and right I want to belt out my love and the girls can be that way too because as we know women are more aggressive now so they won't stay attached to some things. Longer than they need to be because whatever that may some feel good because it's all they know if you keep having a pillow down the street you only know that because you're on the street you know there's a dead but a car that's probably cheaper but you don't know because you're used to your you know that's rusted if you keep turning fix but Lizzie I will ask you this is that as powerful as strong as you are and as positive as beautiful as you are why do you don't have the sometimes you lose that confidence when you said earlier you was confident all yourself what which was confidence when you know you already have it . I don't know the answer to that I wish I did because. It just rocks you and it's like we well I don't or see why why you don't why aren't you making me I don't we are so good together like we were like a perfect puzzle piece and you're not making me like. And I would actually say the words but we are yes we are a natural audience think potty mouth but like here's a question for you Liz yeah would what would have helped How would you feel if he divorced his wife and went with you now like after after I found out or before before all but 4 after question now if I were to see him I'd cross the street. I have no feelings for him whatsoever right. None I mean I wish him well but like the person that I fell in love with doesn't actually exist like that that person is real because the person that he told me he was isn't actually a real person he's somebody completely different that's not a real person and when I said that to him the look on his face was like I just stabbed him in the heart and I was like you know the person you told me you were doesn't exist you're someone completely different is it all those things I said it was true and all the things I felt were true and like maybe for you you fall in love with a real person like I real everything I told you was real and true everything I've said I fell is really true everything you told me was utter and complete balloon. So I don't believe you you're a lair. But do you have to do that in order to say hey you know what this was a right or do to hide feelings because you've had feelings for a couple you know I said I was in love with someone who wasn't real like how you used you you tell me you're going to love me forever and ever and ever and I was in love with someone who doesn't who's not real you are a character I fell in love with a character in a book essentially. Like touching based on when you when you were trying to you don't know why you lost your your confidence and a lot of that has to do with you lost confidence in your own brain your only thoughts like you believe something 100 percent Oh yeah and when that that thing that you believe turns out not to be true you start think well what else can I not trust myself you know what you know what it was I do I really like doing this do I really know this years and you doubt everything yet you because you think you know yourself so well and you trust your judgment and then you're like How can my judgment be so wrong well what else is wrong what else don't I know what else is like wrong with my with me but you know like years from now I think you might hopefully you can look back on this and not doubt yourself because your feelings were real for this person that he showed you so don't doubt your feelings doubt you know like. I'm not saying don't do you no doubt everyone that you come in contact with but don't don't tell yourself don't lose that don't let them when they do not deserve to take your confidence you need to take it back and tell them to go piss off and that you know like I want to real person if you aren't real with me then get lost this is who I am if you are going to be up front with me from the moment we start seeing each other then leaf I'm a little missile a.j. But she's a rifle and a close explosives. Ok I'll let him go if I see backa it's like let's go fishing don't let him take your confidence girl let them take your love for yourself because they don't deserve that they don't deserve anything but you to be happy me and love just weenie so this is your new p.f.s. This is going to get a bit weird I'm hearing that well folks will be back with. Their explosive expert exactly criticism. And Lizzie got us talking she does cheaters cheaters dot com We'll be right back with. This is the sound of a call I splashing around the wrong hamburger turns on you're cutting. And it looks like mom just put the tomatoes and onions on there. Don't let me call my boss an estimated 3000 Americans die from the food borne. So always separate raw meat from vegetable spawn to cut to keep your family safe and to see if you got crushed by the u.s.d.a. H.h.s. And yes. Folks we are back. Notes from the union if it is to 89 point one came straight out Orc I mean we've got some big. Explosive I hear today on this segment and no pun intended that literally I hope not. Even check my bank of an Indian's tip that I feel like we're out of the airport because we have a nice people. Some people for you that I personally thought I thought you were all but no Republican we're here tonight and I'm really excited thank you for coming as well have Rebecca with us Rebecca. Got to be deployed yesterday I guess she said voluntarily and you know I know I volunteered to go more. I would . Want you here to protect our country the 1st and foremost going through what you've had to go through to decide to make that move but I want to know a little bit about you go back to work are you from I'm actually from San Diego was I'm born inside the house I'm in insulated my family are weird hippies and they had all but it's just a lovely and no no it was not Ok And there's a lot of stories there we actually had my sister was born and my mom was ironing in the kitchen when she went into labor and left the iron on so as my father was delivering my sister in the bed the fire department showed up because the house is on fire. Police and Fire Starter never Yeah the house down so I brought my hands are and I'll say that well 4 years old something silly like a gummy. Over decorating they start off with that would be as explosive but Ok that's you born in the house and it's needed Ok fine that's that's not new We're doing it for thousands of years now hospitals. So we're back to work. With your story not as things of progress What made you decide to go into the military Well it was I joined late I was actually a preschool teacher before I joined for 3 years I loved it it was I love the kids the love teaching I'm an excellent teacher that's probably why I was a chicken Marine because it is the same thing teaching children. But I. No it was something that always kind of wanted to do but fresh out of high school I had a full ride scholarship to play soccer and call it so I couldn't pass that up and soccer was my passion that was the love of my life I was actually trying to get recruited for Olympic development teams all growing up and then I played some fresh and then in my freshman year of college I tore every ligament in my knee so it kind of and in my trying to come back from it but my my knee was so severely damaged it was just never the same so. That happened and then I hated Michigan where I was living at the time so I moved to California ended up teaching preschool and it was an amazing experience but I don't know if you know much about preschool teachers they don't make Jack Ok I was you know sleeping on a couch in a friend's house because I couldn't afford the cost of living here so I wanted to travel with my passion and I'd always wanted to join the Marine Corps or the military in general and I joined the Marine Corps because it's the hardest and most you know it is that's demanding that there are so that's why I chose Marine Corps. And I you know I grew up when I was little I had dreams of you know being you know it would be didn't have a lot of female role models growing up we didn't have the you know real military women because they really there weren't any so my role models were you know like the men so and I grew up playing like soccer with boys and then even as I got older I played on the boys soccer team because I was the girls in the girls' competitive teams just weren't competitive enough so I played with the boys all grown up and you could say you are would you say you are You were aggressive Oh God . Very much so. But legally aggressive I don't I'm not a cheater like that not not not cheating in that sense but book no night in general no topic of the day yes actually Well I mean now that you start to get in the military and you decide to go in the Marines did you encounter any criticism from family or friends once you decided you were going to join at this late time in your yeah I'm here I joined at 24 and I didn't tell my family that I joined so I actually wrote them from. Did you go to pick a period you go No although there's not enough female Marines to have 2 different amps or recruit so all the women go to Parris Island and South Carolina so that's where a was that actually was on a grad was quite proud of that I'm actually sions But yeah I did get a lot of like my After my parents and then my family came to my graduation like even though I was on a grad usually a huge honor and they reserve seats in the podium for everyone all your family members none of mine showed up. That's messed up they didn't believe they don't believe in females being military So yeah anyways yeah right before he deployed I ended up my my father ended up telling me that if I died over there that I was my fault and that. Women should be in the military and if anything bad happens to me it's because God's punishing me so I went anyways Wow what a story now that's very cruel what is in it you know what Shari what you got in and you decided she got it yes but what was your goal what did you want to do. I what I loved and I wanted to help others I wanted and I know that you know some people are like oh I'm going to join the military so I could kill people now I want to join the military because I wanted I loved you know the the adventure the special ops kind of thing I want to do special ops but unfortunately at that time they didn't let women do it so I just I loved it but I wanted to help people and so what do you hope to when you go on the road in the military what was your job I was supposed to be an m.p. Which is military police but when I finished when I finished combat training they told me that I was going to be a comet engineer it's like a what and my instructor comes over he said you got the coolest job or you could be called and you're like excuse me so what do we do comedy engineers do he's like oh thing you know stuff in like fine mind you know those dudes that are out there sweeping for mines I'm like that myself like it's like a movie I was watching you know those that's that's. Yeah yeah that's different they don't let you know your story you know where they were the ones out there without the suits doing it well you know obviously the minds texters like the metal detectors like at the beach or whatever we actually have mined attackers so we would be out from the convoy sweeping lines so that's he's like yes we'll be doing I was like being in the back and I had like we had a 2nd I'm I don't I'm terrified electricity I don't like bombs I don't know anything to do with this what do you mean I'm going to have to be a combat engineer I want to do this job and then I actually got a plague play with like c 4 and make like bombs and blow shit stuff up and it was like a lot of fun for you so you look so yeah I was and enjoyed I'm really. I'm I'm disappointed because I wasn't old because I was a female I wasn't allowed to go division so division is actually where they attach you to infantry units and you are like their the air their explosives guy so that will be the person that goes and puts the bomb on you know the doors to blow it in where you're you're they're pretty much their bomb guy and I wasn't allowed that because I have a pair of boobs and kind of annoyed me so I did mostly when I was training on camp in a tent I did mostly construction and I did I was actually pretty darn good at finding mines so when I did deploy it did a little bit of that but I mostly was and checkpoints doing female Ike with the female engagement team and the lioness program and like searching females doing patrols the guys so did you have to wear you know the say you know Afghanistan and some others you have to wear certain garment because you're a female even later now you know we. Kind of look like a dude because you're covered you know you have your car your flak jacket everything you're loaded down so the only thing that's going to distinguish you well obviously your face if you get up close but you know your flak jacket covers your chest everything's they couldn't see them my twin's. Yeah and then your bun so if they you know if they just see you from the front they think you're a man until they come close and then I love the love getting like oh my gosh you're a woman yes I know that your voice Well you know well I've got a curious why don't they allow women in combat situations well they actually do you know in certain and losses but it's certainly not completely equal you know their argument is that I mean Ok so it's interesting because I before I deployed I was. Against women being in combat roles not because I didn't think I could do it. Because I know I could I actually did it it was more because I'm all about mission accomplishment that's the whole purpose of the military's mission accomplishment and I had to put aside my pride in order to accomplish the mission and so I didn't believe that women should be in comic roles in like those specific military like on infantry units or anything like that that was because you know how America is and how most the world is men are the culturally they're the protectors so if I have a man that's my friend right here and I'm going to be you know in a firefight next to him I do not want him to look over and be concerned that I'm going to get killed and end up having him die for me like I don't want that to happen. That's why I argued against it and also I argued against it because there's I mean the majority of females we do we aren't our bodies aren't built for that we you know are built much differently I'm not saying that we can't do it not saying that women aren't capable of doing we are but our bodies like most of our bodies are not built for that I was built a 2nd life. I think you know I could do it I physically could do it but I didn't believe in it so my mind was completely changed when I deployed and I saw that we were needed there and in order to accomplish the mission females were needed in those infantry units I needed on the front line I think it should be I have mad respect for all the all the medics out there I served with some awesome ones Yeah and I mean those medics and those those nurses that work over there I mean I got injured there blown up or somehow I'm not you have spun out that well what happened were you got injured or you had some concussion and I got injured a couple times but couple times yeah she says it's Ok Actually that was what a purple just a Purple Heart not a good heart and you know that's kind of par for the course so you're in the millet I don't know a single person that's been in the military that doesn't have some percentage of disability when they get out yeah it's you know I was we I was doing a convoy with an infantry unit and they can pick me up and they didn't have enough seats in the Emma so to sit on the floor and wrap it. I don't know the acronym for a now machine or something it's basically it looks like a frickin tank it's like a Humvee and they put the people in the back in school like 6 wheels or 8 wheels on it depends on the size so it's like an up armored vehicle so yeah you know you're on the floor. So basically have seats where it's almost like. You don't report it you don't know you've got concessions I was like yeah I probably. I had one of all the above was there a time that you like really question whether or not you're going to get out of there that day Hola lives every day yeah I said then she checkpoint and how it's set up is they in front of you I don't like. I can 100 me not 100 meters like 100 yards away they have this there where they are where they stop and they make the people in the car everyone but the driver gets out so then they have the bomb dog out there sniffing the car and then and then it's usually the man that drives through and then we have this just Wang line of other women and children and other men that were passengers in the car line up to get searched now we were in the very front so we were probably about 100 feet in front of where all the Marines were behind us so we're like on my left would be all Iraqi police and a lot of times they were shady they were actually like terrorist so we had to be careful with them and then I was then I had my own little search in my and an interpreter that would often be in the hut helping search the women as they came through so I would help search out front and look through all the bags and stuff for weapons and any contraband and then they would go through the hut we would search them or in there because they can't be seen you know lifting up there he job and in public or their purpose in public or anything so we had to do it in cover. And one day it was like morning and they there was this woman that was about probably how 100 feet. Come walking up and she just screaming flailing our arms screaming and I was like you know we're trained all the time we get. Meetings and they do powerpoint presentations about like what to look out for a lot of suicide female suicide bombers were very prevalent during that time and were all warned about what to look for so I was like oh God there was like textbook like yeah so I reckon took my gun safe tracked back started seitan on her head and I you know there's like I can't remember the I can't remember the Iraq or the fricken Arabic term for stop and I was yelling at her stop stop stop and she kept coming and I was like oh God I'm going out the shoot this woman so I sighed in sight in our chest and then I was going to go to her head and scream and still coming toward me I'm trying to get her to stop she wouldn't stop oh God here we go and then my interpreter comes running out she's like. She's like hold on let's I need to I can hear what she's saying I was like did this this woman is strapped like if she has a bomb on her all that I so I need to make this decision now I was like Oh dear God I do a killer or do I and I was like gut instinct as like Um hold on let me wait for like 2 more seconds she's like what she's saying help she's like crying saying Help size like Oh Ok All right so I let her come closer and she's just screaming and crying and interpreters like medical help and I was like Ok so we brought her into the hut looked up for her. And her breasts were gone they were. Off Like all it was she lifted up all I smelled was like flesh and it was like oh my God Yeah so her breasts were gone and she was screaming and I was like go go go because you had to pass through there to get into the hospital. You know snarling now is just that was you know I was just one day you know listen. This is us. This is I mean this is this is what we want to be. Yes we have to set up a woman me to make sure that voice things out. Well is terrible.
