Barreling toward the u. S. Dorian is pounding the northwestern bahamas this morning with winds of 175 miles per hour. Some 30 inches of rain could fall there. A lifethreatening storm surge of up to 23 feet is possible. A hurricane warning is now in effect for parts of floridas east coast. Dorian is a threat from florida to North Carolina.
