View Comments A Middle Tennessee man is facing a first-degree murder charge after his mother, who hadn't been seen since early last year, was found dead inside her Portland home last week. The Portland Police Department reported Brian Atchison, 44, was also arrested on charges of abuse of a corpse and animal cruelty in connection to the death of his mother, Doris Atchinson, 69, and her cats.
