RESIDENTS are being urged to step forward and volunteer to become a Dorset Ambassador to help welcome and support visitors exploring the county. The Ambassadors have already been busy on the streets of Weymouth and other towns across Dorset, helping residents and welcoming visitors - and more volunteers are being urged to sign up ahead of the main summer season. The Dorset Ambassador programme was launched by Dorset Volunteer Centre as it was anticipated many people will choose to holiday in the UK this year. A new band of Ambassadors are patrolling the streets of Dorset’s seaside and market towns, welcoming visitors and offering advice on services, facilities, and places of interest. They are all volunteers from the local community and are thrilled to share their wealth of local knowledge with everyone they meet. ....
