January 7, 2021 Sheldon, Iowa – The Sheldon City Council voted to accept the low bid for the 2021 Street Improvement Project during their regular meeting Wednesday afternoon. The bid accepted by the Council was the lowest of seven bids received for the project, coming in at $1,472,369.25 and was submitted by Hulstein Excavating of Edgerton, Minnesota. DGR Engineering had originally estimated the project would cost $2,020,000, making the bid accepted about nine-percent lower than the Engineer’s Estimate.
