Share Hillsboro Scouts To Honor The Legacy Of Sam Houston The annual Hillsboro Friends of Scouting Dinner will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 8, at the Scout Hut in Hillsboro, located at 915 Corsicana Highway. This year, the scouts will remember local resident Sam Houston s 80-year contribution to scouting. A celebration of Houston’s 80th anniversary in scouting was originally planned for this year s event, but he passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 24. His life and legacy will now be honored at the event. If we can t honor him, we can enjoy and honor the example he left for the youth of Hillsboro, Hill County and Texas, organizers announced. ....
