Things feel different. it is different. it s great to have them back all up there. first of all, it s noteworthy because it s the longest time since they started in october that they ve been able to announce the resolution of one of their cases. they heard cases in october, november, december, and early january. and it s a real mystery what has caused the delay. it could be that, you know, many of the divisions that we saw at the end of last term in the abortion rights case still linger. certainly signs of nap the justices have also started new security protocols for how they handle drafts and deliberations as they try to come up with a ruling that has at least five votes on it. and we have a new justice, ketanji brown jackson who s been active during oral arguments and she might be writing more or wanting more time for deliberations behind the scenes. ....

No resolution is probably better at this point than a resolution that is going to cheese off half the country, where it s identified as someone on one side of the aisle. it s really intriguing that aspect of the idea of not actually to see intending or, perhaps, that is the truth. i wonder if you can weigh in on this, arian carmona because, i wonder, if you don t interview the people who have drafted the opinions, and of course the american public is looking at this inside themselves, i wonder what s going on already behind closed doors, outside the eye of the public and the oral argument, when the justices are trying to convince one another, and they re exchanging drafts back and forth, trying to nudge one in one direction, we almost had the sense, initially, that this might the either something to either lock a position in or to encourage somebody to change based on the fallout. how do you see this investigation? laura, i just checked, and it s been seven hours since ....

Have to work off drafts. there are hundreds of drafts that go back and forth between clerks and their justices, between chambers. there s lots of ways to leak that information, including not using the hard copy but leaking the content. so the only way to really avoid this is first through this cultural commitment of integrity. now, someone shattered that commitment. but the other way is to deter future culprits by catching this one, and that does not appear to be happening. it appears that, you know, the court has been quite frank that they have reached a dead end even though they hope to continue to look for evidence of the culprit. sandra: jonathan turley, thank you very much for joining us on that. jonathan, before we let you go, just noting that we are still digging through this, but ultimately what we do know is ....
