This year there had been a 40 per cent increase in enrolments for funded courses. UCOL’s acting chief executive Linda Sissons said there had been consistent growth and an increase on each campus in every faculty. An extra 191 students had enrolled from last year, and Sissons expected that to grow. She said the scheme provided school-leavers and those out of school the chance to get a headstart in a sought-after career.
