Hear about new orleans. stories being written is the levee system worked. in katrina it was ancient and not upgraded in decades. what reports have you gotten from the levee system this time and was it even necessary to help drain lake pontchartrain using the levee system? >> i think draining part of lake pontchartrain was a necessity. with these hurricanes you have no idea what's going to happen. what we were hearing is about the pumps in new orleans and a few of the pumps were not working. if they hadn't done that the levees could have overtopped. some levees overtopped in st. bernard parish....
