Workington teen's excitement over leading West Side Story role
A talented teen is set to take on a leading role this summer – and she can't wait to get back on stage. Avid actress and singer Beth Smith has been performing for most of her life, joining the Maryport Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (MAODS) 10 years ago, at the age of six, as well as Carlisle's StagedRight Youth Theatre. And after more than one year in lockdown, with productions on hold during the entire Covid pandemic, the 15-year-old star can't wait to get back on stage – as leading lady Maria, in West Side Story.
